So if you got the balls to hold it down , and sail of the tail ,I with my wimpish 82 kilos on my fox 95 in stupid high wind open sea conditions fox is fast so so fast ! With all my slalom boards of the past and new age sails I've got to say the 95 did not disappoint. I'm thinking it's the one to beat at the moment for me on 5 to 6 mtr in real world sea conditions.
After a bit of a wobble about cut out's in the tail on the 2019 fox 95 I'm now a happy chappy . it is a big 95 ' but depends on your kilo but I'm knakerd after one of rare blasting sessions I'll remember for quite a time (bit like the Naish enduro and isonic amongst others ) long time ago.
Gess I'm still old school long a and thin ![]()
The board that is I mean.

When I first jumped on a fox it brought back happy memory's of the boards I sailed 20years ago. It's just a great board, fun, fast, easy and so far proving to be very tough.

We did remove the cut outs from the Fox 95 as a running change. We're always working on these boards and testing different things that we find ourselves and also what we hear from feed back.
I did some back to back testing with cut outs and no cut outs. I gave these boards to others to test as well. The info that we got back was that in lighter wind it didn't make a very noticable difference. We found that in the stronger winds when you're pretty much on the edge it helped to stabalise the board and made it trim better. The Fox 95 is still very good with the cut outs. It was a good opportunity to make a small improvement along the way without having to build a whole new mold.
Hope your new board goes well for you.
But now I can read and see pictures of the newest fox 95 v2 without cut outs.
Is it with or without cut outs in the newest model?
I have both the 120 liters and the 95 liters boards from the first version, great boards, no critics for the moment.
With regards,
John (asturcon)

Cut outs in a "small" board such as the Fox 95 might not be that important? Especially for a board that is not designed to be competitive on PWA race course.
All my "big" slalom boards have had cut outs in the last ten years. Carbon Art 52 and 58 did not. Isonic and Patrik all had them and felt just great with the Isonics, but turbulence inducing with the Patriks (100 and 110) unless very very powered up. This year I "inherited" a venerable Exocet 62 Slalom (from 2008! but it won the US nationals back than), that has no cut outs. It surprised me: (a) how well it kept up power in just powered up jibes when compared to the Patrik 100 (even if it is 2.5 cm narrower!), and (b) how fast it is once a certain threshold (powered to overpowered) is crossed. I am right there at 31-33 knots that is my max 2" given the conditions (choppy!) I sail in.
Just saying: if you are considering a Fox 95 do not get hang up on its cut outs or lack thereof ... you'd probably be happy with either. My bet is that no cut outs at that size and use destination are probably a better bet.
I was just a bit confused that the fox 95 still has the cut outs as the board-shaper wrote that the newst version will not have it.

John
