I do sail fresh water and ocean water quite often during a same season and with smaller board 100L and less. The get up and go in salt water is earlier with wave gears and freestyle gear. Landing a move is also easier in saltwater, as you mentioned buoyancy is better. I never sailed my slalom gear in salt water so cannot talk about bigger board(112L slalom) and larger board.

I got planing today in about 10 knots with this combo:

SB GO 170L, 256 x 90, Ezzy 8.5 Lion, GSport 58cm fin. Geez the Lion pulls like a train.

Hey OW that's great news
finally you stuck some decent power on the GO

We love the old GOs for early planing down here at Sandstone

I think my 13yo son (62kg) has taken the early planing mantle now.....

Two afternoons now he has taken the JPSLW92 off me after the wind has died and done another hour on the water

8.5 Ezzy lion 8-10knts of wind .... he makes it look so easy I could spit!!!!!

cheers Jeff

Not sure - never counted them

its a lion 3. Much the same as the original lion and no real difference to the original 8.5 infinity that I originally used. Only difference is the original infinity was a much more durable sail

im a bit of a 'tryhard' and don't get the minor subtles of yearly updates

cheers Jeff
