Spotty is defiantly on the KA team!! :)
We are still running the last updates on the new webpage and might not have all info yet from our riders,,

As Spotty pointed out we have huge improvements over the entire range of 2012 KA sails.

The "Killer" wave sail has been added to the wave sail range and represent a more compact sail with a drive more forward and higher foot. Form our feed back it works excellent in waves as for Freestyle!!

The Freeride range of Koyote and Kult is remaining their unreal performance and smaller upgrades has been added to improve draft a little more forward.

KArace and Koncept has gone through a lot of work and the result speaks for itself.
From pro riders to freeride sailors, that had a chance to test the sails, all have the same feedback, that in one word would be - WOW!!

We are very excited to get all those 2012 sails in our customers hands and hear their feedback, that we expect will be 100% positive.

For more specific info, spec, pictures, etc. please see below,,

Choco, I am going to be using the Race at the PiT this season and see what I can do. I,ll get Spotty on them for sure, he,ll go faster than me!!!.
The Race and Koncept have got a bit closer this year but the Koncept is still likely to be the beter choice for true downwind speed sailing. The Race is designed as a Slalom Race sail with a finer entry than the Koncept, is better upwind and crosswind and super stable in really overpowered conditions but may not have the drive at the really deep downwind angles that Koncept has.
We will see, it may surprise

Nice job done on the flash new website Martin and Peter, though shocked to see that my favorite sail, the Koyote, is now mostly monofilm!

My new Koncept has the best "go fast" feature in the world:
a sticker that says V98
lucky me, shame its has not seen the water in WA yet !!

I hate to ruin the love-in, but what is actually better about these sails? There are a few comments about how better they are, but no actual details on what this is that has been improved?

Are you saying the previous models were crap, and therefore the new ones fix up this blatant fault? Comments about how fast they are sort of imply the old ones weren't...

They do appear to look good though.

When I looked at the KA website a few days ago, despite finding details of the sails, I couldn't find any information on how to get a quote for them in Australia. Has that been broken?

Formula, There will be a brand new OZ webshop online really soon ( in fact I thought it was happening last night) It will have all the details on how you can order the sails and all the contact details if you wish to chat to somebody prior to placing an order and any local delears .

2012 Koncept

Jesper is the best person to explain the technical details of the changes that have been made.
In essence the sail has been given a more compact outline, shorter in the luff and longer in the boom. Refinements to the shaping and twist have occured as well.
Why?
The Koncept has it,s origins as a speed sail, AMAC originally designed if for Speed sailing at Sandy Point. As a consequence it is extremely fast deep downwind but the Team felt that its "all round" capabilities could be improved, mainly it,s upwind performance. The changes that have been made are squarely aimed at acheiving this.
So, no the previous Koncepts are not inferior as is evident by the results the sail has acheived. They do what they were designed to do more than admirably. For 2012 it was a case of changing the design parmeters for the sail slightly.
I am sure jesper would be happy to go into the "knitty gritty,s" if you wish.

It's all in the mind folks.

I tested a 5.8m rs6 against a 6.2m reflex and i found no difference in bottom or top end, although i agree the reflex is a better sail, lighter especially.

New sails are fun to try and they are at there fastest before they are stretched, downhill from there on.

Remember owning a new 5.0m RS3 and it was real quick when new,a few thousand km's later, felt it had lost so much performance.

My friend has bought online, from tennis warehouse over 50 tennis raquets, and guess what?

He still prefers his old Yonex raquet that is 20 years and 10 models old.

Then again, maybe i'm doing a psyops on myself to reduce the jealousy of not being able to afford a new Koncept 2012.

Ahh, I found the link to where you send a quote request. I think it would be good to also provide a list of areas/suppliers to order from so you can just click on where you want to order. IMHO sometimes pretty graphics and complicated scripts can be worse than a straight forward approach.

I guess it is hard to make a new sail stand out from the previous years, especially when you have done a good job previously. It does get a bit boring though when the comments are very generic 'it just got better' type comments though.

Also, how is the customer service these days? I have had mixed reactions when I have ordered these in the past. I have had great responses a few times when I went to order some Koncepts, and then almost no response when I enquired about a sail a few months later.

I guess if you are a "team-rider" you might not see these things, but for the rest of us, this makes a difference.

I think I am still waiting on a request for some RDM cams that I asked about a year ago. Have they come in yet

They are pretty sails though.
