Tried the 5.3 yesterday (finally) and I'm very satisfied how it performs.

As a beginner for 6 months, I cannot review this sail.

I broke my 4.7 kid sail on sunday when learning the rear footstrap, so rather that fixing the panel, I might as well buy something that is indestrutable.

This kid sail being torn part. It is extremely light weight, much lighter than 3.2 rental gear soft sail. Since I am learning planing, this sail cannot tolerate my torture anymore, so I might as well look for something that is not destructible.

I got a 5.5 yesterday to try out in 15-20 knots of wind in flat water. As advertised, very comfortable and smooth, which what I need as a beginner. Although a lot heavier that my kid sail, the weight gives me stability

I am learning footstraps at the moment, cannot have a broken sail all the time. This sail should be tough.

John also showed me how to rig this sail. Rigging a monofilm sail is completely different, as this sail is hard to tell from the leech of enough downhaul or not

John should teach you how to lace the downhaul properly so as there is no crossover, you will struggle to pull that down.
Swap the rope on the inside 2 pulleys & you will get a straighter pull.
