Sorry to go a little off topic here guys. I'm curious, as a reasonably new comer to the sport (12 months) I'm in the market for a new larger sail. I was looking at either the 2007 Ezzy wavesails or the new 2007 Ezzy Freeride range. I can't see myself doing anyway wavesailing, or at least, nothing too big. Really just blasting around, gybing, bump and jump etc, etc. I guess you call it freeride? Anyway, as the name suggests, would I be better off with a Freeride Ezzy sail? Can somebody please explain the real difference in the two types and the pros/cons of buying one over the other. Could I venture out into smaller surf with the Freeride sail and be fine etc?
Cheers
Evan

What is it that puts you off the new Norths?
I just bought a Duke in 5.4 to replace a old 5.8 and 5.2, thinking who wants to wavesail in 5.8 conditions.
Unfortunately the top battern was broken and the sail ripped the first time it was hit by a wave in 0.5m swell, pissing me right off.
Do you question the new sails quality, their look or what.

Sorry ejmack couldn't answer your question as I don't know about the Freeride range. But the Wave sail is just fine for straight sailing - you won't be disappointed.
No problems matcham... hopefully picking it up friday and using it over the weekend. Pretty sure I've made the right decission :D
I'm disappointed with my North Ice, it just doesn't set right
And for a wavesail to have 50% monofilm is a bit... well... strange?
I'm going ezzy for my next sail ![]()

Adam,
The 6.5 Freeride Ezzy Wave is a fine sail with heaps of power. I use it on my Fish for wavesailing the lighter days and have absolutely no hesitation in using it even in good quality waves.

Evan,
I was looking at getting the 6.5 freeride. It is basically the same sail (draft and over all shape) as the Wave SE with a sixth batten. I use the 07 Wave SEs on my wave board (Quattro FW85) as well as a freeride board (F2 Stoke 116, using mainly the 5.8m)) when there is no waves or not windy enough for the wave board. They go really well on the freeride boards....plenty of power to plane through lulls......great for blasting....quite a fast sail.
Would like to hear how you find the Freeride, please post your impressions
Adam
