No northerly today but managed to make the most of the NE wind. Was dead onshore at the bar and I wasn't keen for that so I went down to peregian where the seabreeze is cross on. Swell is tiny. Kiters were packing up as I was heading out. Not enough wind for them.
will try to get back to the bar for a north/norwest. Looks excellent there at the moment. Lots of room and sandbars not that noticable in the mouth.
Not looking like much wimd tomorrow, but was fun at the lake today on big gear. Friday looking good with southerly. A few of us gunna try weyba. Hope you get a week of wind
Heads up for a smokin late arvo se wind tomorrow Phil. 25-30kn. It may be too late in the arvo but watch the graphs. Sometimes the change comes through early
Hmm. Bom saying evening fir the change.
Will try the bar early tomorrow. 15-20 NW forecast by bom.
Fingers crossed.
Goo day on the 8m! Flat out the tnire arvo with no flat spots :D
Anyone know where I can get North sails boom front ends? Figured out thats what's snapped and everything else seems fine so thought I could save a few $ by getting the part and replacing it.

Maui sails make replacements but your boom needs to be a continuous front end
Fingers crossed Phil. I should be back at work but will give it one more crack. If all else fails I have my wave sup to put the rig onto
Good call Jonsey. Castaways went off between 1 - 4pm.
Mudjimba Friday?
Excellent!,
the wave break upwind of the Carpark is best...been sailing Mool's of late but will head up there again next opp, used to be my local, along with Coolum in SE.
Well that's it for me. Got to the bar just after 8. It was pumping and nice clean 2' waves.
Wind is now dieing.
Million dollar question. How do you get into the bar? All the sand has gone?
I was launching from main beach, east of the rock wall then sailing to the north shore. 5 days of sailing out of a 12 day holiday, I'm going home to melb happy. Thanks Queensland and all the friendly windsurfers I met.
thanks baywave.
I had a look there this morning and was just going to sail main beach and forget the bar as it was upwind. once the wind started dropping i pulled the pin.
there was a time when you could launch off the sand beside the rock wall on the river side. not sure if it was the tides while I was there but the sand seems to be gone.
what was the wind direction when you went out?
I'll get there again. the river mouth had the best waves i'd seen up there.
glad you liked your holiday.
Had a look at the bar around 10am, looked a bit light but do-able witha 5.7 or so. N-w cross off one fellow out but rigged too small. Looked ok, chest high lefts, tag-a-long shopping for me...
NIce to meet you bill. Just miss ya gestalt. Weyba for me in the morn, then back to SWR's. Had fun up here was good to meet a few of the local crew. cheers all.
Bit up and down today but got a few runs late in the arvo with the 8m :) Sunday looks slightly promising, hopefully a nor-easter in the arvo!
P.S. WIll have to get rid of those sail numbers, sorry Bart!
Pretty sure i left just as it filled in... Had some fum runs just bit up and down during my sesh. Bad luck about ur boom mate.
Bill, probably should have joined you at the bar.
Hey Phil,
I think you were packing up as I was rigging up (around 2??). I rigged up my JP FSW 92 and a hellcat 6.2. I was never overpowered, but I was well powered (with max downhaul) at times and got over 30 knots 2s, and sailed 70kms before it died off. I also did a PB on my 1 hour without even knowing I was near to it (long runs are good for 1 hour even if you stop for breaks!!). It was my best sail of the 2 weeks I was up there, and I was glad I went out with the smaller gear. I got out 3 times in the 2 weeks I was up there... all NW/N/NE. There were other opportunities with wind, but was busy with family.
I highly recommend sailing in the general Noosa area and particularly on the lake. Had a great time, and will be back for sure.
Cheers,
Adrian
Hi Gestalt.
I grew up in Noosa, when was that video shot? I can never recall it ever being that good (it would need to be a massive southerly swell to get into the river mouth like that). I have seen it that size, but dont recall it ever consistently break that well (O jave seem lefts but not rights), I guess the stars must have aligned with sandbanks, tide and swell..
Cheers
Forgot to add, great video. I can only recal one day being like this it only last 1 hour with the tide and not quite as big.
I'm back again for my family holiday (2 weeks) from this weekend. Hope to see some good wind and friendly faces at Cootharabra!
Cheers,
Adrian
Same Adrian. I'll be back in Noosa on Sunday- staying for a week or more. Say G'day if you see me. I should get out on Monday if that south-easter holds. will probably hit Weyba first- great little lake, nice crew that sail there. Plenty of other places I want to try. Should be a fun holiday!![]()
I'll look out for you Phil. I will just have one board with me and that will be an isonic 97 carbon (grey board).
I have only sailed in the river and at Coothabra. Never sailed Weyba. If you can, post up here when sailing and I will do the same. I don't know which location is best in which direction, so will go with some local knowledge if possible.
Weather was unreal last year... almost no rain for 2 weeks and several good sails. Hoping for more of the same this year!
I'm back again in Noosa with my family for the school holidays from late Saturday for 2 weeks. Phil, are you going to be around? Anyone else? I will probably look to sail closer to Noosa, so probably Mainly Weyba, Cootharabra... maybe the river, and maybe down to Caloundra if it is a sure thing.
Cheers,
Adrian

Hey Adrian, nah, sorry, not this year. Local sailing for me.
Make sure you hit Golden Beach. Nor-east or S-west, last of run out tide- happy days. Great place to rig, great place to sail. Nice friendly locals too. Have fun mate. Here's a short clip from my last holiday
Nor-east 12-16 knots, 7.4, 111 Carve. PS- Let me know if you call into SWR's on the way back.

Got next Monday to Thurs off. Will be sailing anywhere its good on the coast, Most likely Weyba or GB if a NE is blowing (Mrs and Kids away and I can do what I want)
