You are in my spot Jeff!!!
Looks a bit busier than on the weekend. Although, are any of those boards not yours?
I took four, 121l to 217l and used them all over the 5 days.
Hope you guys have fun, I did!
Double up all lines (on your tents), she's gunna blow!!
Looking forward to you all arriving
I hope I survive untill you get here - tried to wear myself out today.
Thanks for the wind Carindale
2 sessions on the GUMTREE SPECIAL with the 8.5 Ezzy
80% in both footstraps

Planning to head up Saturday & Sunday - was planning to come up Friday, but now going to Broncos on Friday night.
See you then.
Mal
More windsurfers camping today
Hervey Bay crew starting to arrive
Windwanders making a presence
My mate Steve from Bribie
Not a lot of wind today. Some got planing in gusts with big rigs. I went out on the longboard. Practiced gybes in the evening on the training board
Kids out on learner gear
I was mesmerised at one stage looking back to camp and seeing all the sails dancing across the water
Life is great ![]()

Van setup. Boards unpacked
Party time last night
So far counted 6 sailers here. - plenty of camping spots
Waiting for wind
Feeling excited
Cheers Jeff
That one on the right is one hell of a board!
How many litres?..formula?
I am assuming Jeff and the rest of the crew are too busy enjoying themselves to reply. That board is a Starboard Start I believe.
Good day at the office you lot??

Good day at the office you lot??
@sue thanks for dropping in for a look - we are having fun in QLD except all the cold air coming up from the ski fields
@brad nailed it - another gumtree special. A starboard start for my beautiful wife, Jane. Early days for her but she's having a go ![]()
The start is an older model 180litres almost a metre wide. Very stable
Yes a busy day in the office.
Longboards and trainer boards in the morning.
Tim and Pete helped me with my gybe training - thanks mates
Mid afternoon delivered for all the fast sailers - out on 6m gear
The the wind settled to 8.5 flat water intermediate conditions
Out on the Fanatic Stingray with Ezzy 8.5 and Morgs out on his Rio Longtail. There was magic dust sprinkled on the water![]()
More planing runs - rear foot in in all runs, making progress
My board needs a little rehab as I went over the front in the marginal conditions towards the end of the evening![]()
Seems I'm most vulnerable trying to get going with light wind - bearing off too much and getting caught by a gust
Camp ground looks good, heaps of friendly faces - lots of windsurfing gear on the waterfront
Cheers Jeff

Thanks. Cripes i didn't know they came that big!
Updates....
Saturday wind delivered something for everybody
Good 6-7m conditions most of the day. Sailboards everywhere
In the morning I went over to Booreen and worked with Tony on downwind sailing and trying to work on a sailing platform/rig that may get me around a racecourse without falling off![]()
Back at Elanda I marvelled at the experienced sailers in powered up conditions. It was a joy to see one rider come in on an isonic riding on air gently clipping the top of the chop as they stayed perfectly settled![]()
I went out a little later (needed recovery time) on my BIC techno 283 with Ezzy 8.5 (fanatic was in rehab) and had a great afternoon planing in the declining conditions.
There was retro magic on the water. Geoff on his F2 Sputnik 270 powered by a raceboard 9.5 sail![]()
His 14yo son was smashing it on an old school Tiga short board. Great to meet you both out on the water
Sunday was rest/social time and a pleasant day at the Windwanders get together. Waterloo has arrived with a trailer full of carbon magic. A late night in Morgs 'Bar and Grill'![]()
Monday morning millpond conditions in the morning - SUPs an Kayaks plus board repairs.
Jane got back out on the *board START - so proud of my girl. A few of us practiced light wind skills. I fell off a lot!
Afternoon breeze kicked in and it was planing conditions again with bigger gear. I couldn't find the Fairy dust on the water this time and spent my time chasing gusts to no avail. I was back on the Fanatic and can happily report its stable enough to uphaul when the wind drops. This has been a concern for me on the BIC - lots of love for the blue baby but mainly use it when water starting is guaranteed
Morgs and Jay looked great doing the father and son thing sailing out in gentle conditions when the rest of us were already in. Just like the way Morgan's Rio long tail delivers in all conditions.
I met Gavin who was getting back into the sport (always a good sign). He found and old Tyronsea at the tip and pulled out his old school sails from the back of the shed. He was off and sailing again - he was stoked![]()
. He plans to bring his grandson back at Christmas and get him started.
Looking toward to another afternoon session on Tuesday
Cheers Jeff
Thanks for the updates. You guys are really making the most of your holidays! You must be sleeping well at night after all that time on the water. I'm green with envy.
Good luck with the wind today.
Sounds like the action is all happening up there! Please save some wind for me. Been under the weather since Sunday so hope to be well enough for Thursday and Friday- but the wind doesn't look too promising...
Hi Ants
There will be wind for a committed longboard rider![]()
We were out on longboards yesterday afternoon - punishing gusty northerly winds. Tony managed 19.8knots in the gusts however as the results came in later in the evening - Morgs confirmed 20knts on his Rio Longtail. Higher speeds were recorded by Andy on his futura short board (28knt) and Waterloo on his Carbon Kona (26). Jay Naish Nitrix 7.5 21knts
I had a long board moment when I was confidently gaining on Morgs (Rio 8.5) with the F2 lightning well powered up on 8.5 Ezzy only to have Morgs get well and truly on the plane and leave me well behind. Very impressive to watch him accelerate away - something to be said for hybrid boards![]()
Learners went out in the gentle morning winds. A little difficulties as the northerly increased in gustyness - some drifting away from the beach with the offshore winds. A watchful eye was kept and all the flock was rounded up![]()
Cheers Jeff
Friday looks good with return of SE pattern winds
Not enough wind for the new F2 with the dual exhaust ports as yet??
Interesting comment about Morg's and the hybrid vs the Lightning. What wind speed do you reckon?
Hope you all have another fun day...., mongrel dog!, SOB's!...........................sorry, Tourettes moment.

The F2 dual port JATO board will wait for more constant SE winds - next year![]()
Winds?? Gusty with overpowered bullets. Felt like a broken high voltage line arcing on the ground - on/off/on. 8.5 Ezzy out on the rails OMG![]()
don't fall off intensity when the arc connected.
We miss you Ballast - sandstone crowd coming back up this weekend.
Cheers Jeff
Sounds like you're having a good time. Took me 2 days to recover from Saturday morning up there. Clocked 19knts on the Bamba/7.8. Gave the fin a good scraping on the rocks in the shallows north of the campsites. Warning to self - stay away from the rocks.
Did you get any of the storm yesterday?
I was thinking of a trip back up with the van, but we have a few things on this weekend. Also after a not so fun drive back last Sunday, do not fancy the last day of holidays trip home on Monday.
I will keep an eye on the forecast and see how many Brownie points I am in debt for. Might be able to wrangle a quick trip up.....maybe.
Second day of quiet morning recovery/repairs/trailer tours
Trainer sails out in the gentle lunchtime winds - then afternoon blast!!
Wind up in the arvo - northerly with a bit better direction, not so gusty
I wanted guaranteed planing - SLW 66cm fin and 9.5ezzy - I must say the power was a little on the brutal side![]()
More fairy dust/magic sprinkled on the water.
Planing - flying across the chop WAHOO. Had a couple of runs where the chop felt like it didn't exist - board flat and fast.
After talking to Dave at Windwanders meet up I tried back foot first and can say it is showing a lot of promise Seems more manageable on the big wide fat ar@@@se SLW
Tony-Nowork- talked me into prepping the carve 131 - it's been neglected in the quiver for a long time. Powered up with 8.5 sail tony really got it going - 'best day he has had on the water
' appreciate him sorting it out for me
Morgs had a breakthrough - looking forward to reading his version of events
Life is great
Cheers Jeff
Wow, what an afternoon at elanda pt, I now want to find myself a carve 131-140 (anyone want to sell one)? Never felt so comfortable and in control, that was an amazing time.
Thursday was a repeat of Wednesday - who can complain ![]()
Managed a couple of fast runs without hoping off the end - did the gracefull thing and slowed down for a tack
Antc is up to taste some shortboard magic/heartache - well underway to getting the GO155 moving
9 of us doing long runs and meeting back at Peter's bouy for a debrief - love sailing with friends![]()
Friday morning all the beginners out on training boards and some longboard action happening.
Another great day on the water Thursday - I took out the Naish Kailua 180 and not only got it planning but into the back straps. 20 knots
Ben made it out with a ezzy 7.5 (thanks Jeffrey) and had a blast on the Rio Longtail
Jaye - out on his Naish 135 with 7.5 m NP sail smashing it and Jill offered a go on her 122 futura and 6m Hot sail Maui had a blast -:-( forgot to switch on GPS
Just waiting for the wind to come up today
Jaye Peter and Peter Katia Anita Jane Gay Mike's whole family Andy's daughter and max and friend and others on the water this morning photos to come
What a great day and a great spot to get together for windsurfing right here at Lake Cootharaba

I think it has some record for its size
Will look up later
