Work???? That's ludicrous Peter.
Another ridiculously pleasant sailing afternoon at Phillip Street this afternoon. All my little blue friends are stinking up the beach at Deception Bay and no weed so Beachmere was about as nice as it can be with clean green water. 15kn conditions so 8.5 for me on the Magic and 8.2 for JV Jonno on his JP slalom. Happy days ![]()
What's everyone think about sailing over from Bongaree, out to some cleaner wind and flat water with the race board's / long board's? It'll be wind against tide to make it easier tacking back. I found it harder using those different muscle's today in the wave's rolling in. I need to spend a bit of flat water time on that board to get used to it, (and fitter).Tony might want to get used to his new Wally before he go's working it amongst the swell's. Could also be Interesting to map the place out.
I'm out for tomorrow Dag.
Was chatting to Tony earlier about maybe us all catching up for a bit of an adventure on the longboards, wally's or windsups. If we were to jag a nice steady 10kn SE day we could follow the beach across to Bongaree from Beachmere on a making tide, grab an ice cream and a drink from Scoopy's and then sail back.
Last day at the lake after three weeks and was able to sail every day I was there. Just as well, have run out of food, crackers, fancy cheeses, whiskey and friends![]()
had good times sailing with the Boreen Point boys, got some sailing fitness back and even managed a respectable gybe or two. Finally figured out how to tune the 9.0 NCX and the 7.5 super speed. Had a terrific last day, fully powered on the 9.0 looong runs across the lake dodging the regatta sailors and the ncx and Thommen flying!! As they say on GOT ...all things must end - until Wednesday when the big southerly hits![]()

No more boards on Jeffrey Point ![]()
early holidays due soon ![]()
boards will be back
2 weeks off before Burum Windfest to to get some some extra sailing in
see you soon pete
sandstone thursday
cheers Jeff
Sounds like you had a ball Peter Nice - We are looking forward to getting back to Elanda in Easter Holidays - working 7 days sure puts a damper on sailing time.
Cheers
Morgs
Hoping to get out for a sail at Sandstone tomorrow arvo if anybody is keen the tide should be all right around 4:30 I think. Hope the wind comes in.
Keeping my powder dry for Big Wednesday at Golden Olden Beach .....
Temperature drop of 2 degrees, will have to find a flanno.
Bugger!!! I've found some work for a couple of day's. Had to be over the Southeaster.![]()
Oh well, at least I'll be able to buy the couple of fin's I need.![]()
G'day Pete N & co. I'm on hols at Noosa Hds reading your Sandstone topic. Plenty of different locations mentioned - but I've no idea where. How about a map of your usual spots so others might join you. Regards from Steve.
Howdy Steve, go back to about page 30 of this thread and you'll see a post where myself and Jeff listed where we sail, punch the streets named into your google maps and you're on you way. In particular take note of the tides as a couple of our favourite spots are very tide dependent.

Darren here. Do I know you? Is this One Design Steve?
OD 1977 & Raceboard & sometimes wavesailing.
I'll have a look at pg30. Don't have gear up here though.
Turners Camp: At low tide there's an oyster bank between the yellow crossover beacon and the red and green at the mouth of Ningi Creek.
Provides ultra smooth water at good angle. Can sail in any tide though, and all the way to the southeast end if you put up with a little dirtier wind. Northeast wind funnel's to Turners Camp area and oyster bank's from Pacific Harbour.
Haven't got any track's saved for the other spots yet.
Thinking about going for a sail tomorrow morning. High tide is at about 7:30. What is the best location if I don't want to get there before 9?
The wind has finally come in 3 hours too late for me. Don't know if I will be able to sail tomorrow because of work.
I could have sailed this afternoon, but no wind. Studied instead.
If I knock-off early enough tomorrow, I might get a late afternoon session in at Bongaree if the wind holds up.
Jeff, you still in?

Run out tide mate, till 2:13pm'ish. Till then, sailing from Bongaree, if anything go's wrong you'll end up out in the bay.
Just depend's on you're level of competency. You can still sail Turners in a se'r. It funnel's though the Passage.
Run's are straight across and back. Probably better from the boat ramp in front of the caravan park/marina as you'll miss the sandbank in the middle of the Passage. There is that same bit of mud like in front of Turners. Wind against tide there make's it ok too.

Night shift tonight - I'm free for sailing depending on sleep budget
will see how I go tomorrow
@cedardell
goldrn beech is probably the other option for tomorrow's conditions
plywoodboy has it as his option

Sleep! Who need's sleep.
I'm going to be absolutely shagged if I get off early enough, but wouldn't want to miss a se'r.
Look's good on paper, so far anyway.
I have a meeting at 10 am And after that I'll head north to see you guys at Bongaree / Sandstone. Spent the best part of the day repairing and tuning gear, looking good for tomorrow ??????

Looking at your typing Jeff, I think some sleep might be in order.
Have fun if you get out you lot.
Sandstone will be available till around 11am. Otherwise South Esplanade on the low. 15-20 at Beachmere right now so it's going to come in heaps stronger yet.
