It's totally understandable for people who don't live, or spend much time on the gold coast, to not see the impact the developments have.
Those opposing the developments are just trying to save some beautiful areas for everyone to enjoy just as it is. There is no need for any development of this kind on the spit. This kind of development and it's apparent culture can be built further in land around some commercial land.

The issue you face haircut is that further inland means kfc. When lost in space pushes the argument about other locations and town planning rules he most likely isn"t aware he is advocating is 15 storey towers 50m from the kfc launch site.
