. . . Mahalo Monday . . .

. . . Green Island wouldn't be such fun without real action photos . . .
. . . Every year we've captured the beauty, excitement and fun times . .
. . . From the benchmark of all windsurf lensmen, John JC Carter. . .
. . . To Severne's own Paul McGill in 2018 . . .
. . . And in between, this guy, GI's very own. He definitely knows his way around the reef as well as a DSLR . . .
. . . A big THANKS - Mahalo nui loa ! - from everyone who has enjoyed all the coverage ! ! !
. . . Midweek mellow . . .

. . . A warm relaxing sunset over the Coral Sea highlights the end of another magnificent GI day. . .
. . . An otherwise random location, that tree is pretty familiar to Nats natives. . .
. . . Down on the dock the 4.30 has long departed. Social hour for resort guests ? ? ?
. . . Well, it's GI hospitality. . . So you "get the picture" . . .Cheers ! ? !
. . . Throwdown Thursday ? ? ?

. . . Well, let's look at it like this ; that one's a little bit more than just "laid" down". . .
. . . Commitment . Nice. . .
. . . Fast Friday from 'Fifteen. . .

. . . Each slalom final had a distinctive flavor to it that year. . .
. . . Some pretty spiced up racing, served up with super close man-on-man competition. . .
. . .The main "ingredients" in that high speed action focused on these 3. . .
. . . Seven Sailor Slalom Saturday. . .

. . . Significance? Seven sunsets til it gets serious. . .
. . . Or Seven degrees down South ? ? ?
. . . Or is that one week to go and one degree down South ; ) ? ? ?
. . . Either way. Island time. Sweet. . .
. . . Something like that ? ? ? Sensational Sunny Sunday. . .
. . . well, at least in some places. . .

Where was everyone? No snow today, but plenty of white caps????
Very nice 20 to 25knts, 26 degrees and clear skies!
See you all soon????
. . . MO . MC . Monday . . .

. . . Wouldn't be right to get all the way to the end of this week and not sneak this in one. . .
. . . While Mo has brightened up our event, few people have been as supportive and positive as MC. . .
. . . Great to share a shot of them both enjoying it for exactly what it is. Fun times, for all. . .
. . . And thanks from all of us . For helping us all share that. . .
. . . Terminator Tuesday . . .
. . . Welcome to the newest entrant to the Grand Masters Event eligibility. . .

50 years ago this week, 3 guys took an out and back speed run out to a deserted rock a mere half million kms away from home. Two of them stopped off for a walk and in doing so created a legend of enormous proportions, the likes of which have not been seen before - or since.
Epic stuff.
50 years ago today marks another special occasion, as it was in fact the launch date of another legend, also of rather significant size, and one who went on to dominate our sport at a level of achievement also never seen before. Or since. In fact, to the extent that no other athlete in the history of our world has won more than 42 World Championships. Fewer still can go on to deliver performance and passion with the same level of intensity and motivation, well after most athletes have long since passed their prime. Also pretty epic stuff.
Congratulations Bjorn. And Happy 50th.
And in case you're wondering if he is, lucky for you GI guys, no he isn't. Your GI results potential remains unaffected...
Interesting perspective though...
. . . PS : Want a bonus pretty picture ? ? ?
. . . Doesn't get to look a lot better. . .
. . . About as sweet as a 5 day event forecast could get ??
It is with much regret that I will not be attending the GI nats this year I have tried to overcome my back injury but it just isn't good enough so I have cancelled my flights. Yes I was booked in to go.
To add to my frustration I have been in hospital on a drip for bad case of the gut flu. How to loose 5 kg in 5 days just **** it out. It took me 3 months to gain 3 kg eating weight gainers and doing weights. Just started feeling better today.
I love this week and look forward to it every year it is so much fun sailing with the windsurfers from all around AUS and some other little countries not so far off AUS with like minder people that are there to have fun and experience what this event is all about.
I want to thank my good mate Murray for looking after me every year and now the dinner organising falls on him.
I want to really thank the organisers who have made this iconic event happen every year and to install such a fantastic fun culture at this event that it really is a credit to them.
Thanks for the wishes I will get better all good that way just need time so let me know the dates for next year I will be there.
All the best and enjoy.

Hoping you get the back sorted out and come back stronger than ever. It wont be the same without you on the island. Your passion, enthusiasm and sportsmanship is infectious and it is a shame that you will be absent from the event. See you next year!!!
the daily calendar images have been lacking shore based activity-, so starting today -
Woolshed Wednesday -

and back tracking for the start of the week, no chance this will be happening on a Monday.
Mountain bike Monday-

. . . W. W. W. What can we say to that Wednesday???
. . . (apart from the fact that we are a political correct and respectful organisation)
. . . Considering the last few posts, this one's probably appropriate ??? - and more back on track ;)

Ladies and Gentlemen, our social coordinator for 2019 enjoys a quiet run with Muzza's chef for 2020. Back in the game soon BMc.

What an awesome week of windsurfing out on the reef! Big thank you to all the organisers and sponsors who put in all the effort to make this such a fun and well run event. Was great to catch up with everyone and fun to have so many girls compete this year. Also great to share event with my son.
