Yes please!!!

I remember sailing until 8ish during the trial in my first sailboarding incarnation.

All pre family of course, but I am happy to put up with the grumpy kid and faded curtains for a late evening session every now and then.

All over it like a rash! I love reading the occasional NO to DLS on Bookface... They are classics! If you ever need evidence of why southern ppl take the piss out of qlders's you have it with some of the great comments that come up!
Yes 2hrs would be ideal, but let's get the 1hr first!
The other thing you can do is bombard your local MP's FB page with links from the DLS page.
It's a crime that we have sun from 4.30am and dark at 6, when was the last time you got a sail in 'before work?!'
No wonder why Qld is the fattest state it's too dark to exercise outdoors in summer after work!

I'e already started, following Slowcoaches example, if the forecast is good, I start work at 6.00am,skip lunch and finish at 2.30, on the water by 3.45, sail till 5.45. no one has to vote and the curtains don't fade,

I'm going to ask my lecturers and all the other students at uni to check the weather forecast and do the same

Maybe voting is easier...

Every year this topic comes up. It was voted on and it was voted down.

If you want daylight savings you could always take a leaf out of the boat people (refugees) book. Go to some other place that has what you are looking for ie. go to NSW VIC TAS... Don't try and change where you are.

Without going on about the obvious you can now sign the petition quickly at the following link.
It's a no brainer especially for windsurfers!
Last time you got a seabreeze sail at 4.30am Remi? And the vote was last held not that long after Jo left the house!
Qld has bugger all twighlight even with DLS it will still be dark an hour earlier than down south, I'd love 2 hours!
Go to places like Melbourne and see the outdoor buz of activity in summer, people down the beach after work, sailing hours after work!
Work in brisbane finish at 5 good luck getting a sail after work unless you have night lights!
I'ts not always an option for to 'start and finish earlier' for most of the workforce.
Bring it on, hassle your local MP also!

Done. I lived in Melbourne before so I know the feel. It's pretty good when you still see the sunlight after work .
There may be some people opposing it only because they think turning the clock 1 hour back and forth is troublesome.

I am greatly in favour of daylight saving lining up with southern states.
I remember getting out for a sail when we had it. I couldn't believe that people would vote against it.
Now I,m retired it doesn't make a lot of difference however I have filled in the petition for all those who can think clearly of the benefits.
I think it should be decided as a Federal issue, not state.
God luck

Yes Yes Vando. I would have been in Primary school. Guess you had just finnished high school? At uni maybe? Guess daylight savings didnt affect you too much?

Jsail, I spent two years in Newcastle studying, Worked in Melbourne and Tazzy. Seen their long twilights (especialy Taz). I have even worked in Antarctica the twilight is even longer there lol. However these places that I have mentioned have a different climate to QLD. I'm not going to change your opinion. Your mind is set. Just saying that if you lived in Melbourne I bet that you dont break out all your Melb winter clothes in QLD? So why bring you clock here?

Has anyone ever seen a VIC number plate? It states that they are 'On the Move'. I guess it is 'On the move to QLD to try and make it like the place they are leaving but a different climate'.

That's what daylight saving does. All work places, schools etc will open and close an hour earlier
