Green is good, shame about the (lack of) swell.
gerroa might be < 5.0m on Sunday but schooner high waves. maybe worth looking around the 'gong with some wind-swell?
My bet is for Shoalhaven hears Sunday or if it's windy enough Werri beach could be on.
Given it's a North Easter wind swell I have my doubts it will get into Gerroa. Usually anywhere around the gong is better in those conditions.
Best hope for a good swell and north easter combo is next weekend. The sustained 3 days of southerly should bring a nice ground swell up from the south. In theory there is a high in the bight already waiting to move into the Tasman after the southerly has gone through.
Next weekend me says mild ECL 1008 forming Thursday off NSW north coast tracking SE to NZ and intensifying blocking the high in the bight and bringing good E to SE swell with S to SE winds.
that's what happens when you try and predict a NE. no green 4 sydney today.
as they say, the weather changes, not the forecast...ARGH
Yes, put off windsurfing yesterday as the green arrows were way better for today. Got out the 111 instead of the 145 and was really looking forward to the workout. ![]()
Based on what happened last Sunday, or more appropriately what did not happen, we should all plan a day of home maintenance this Saturday.
Instead of talking about something that I shouldnt be talking about ill talk about next weekend. I use BOM's 10 day forecast as well as seabreeze. Heres the link if anyones interested.

It does help and can be reasonably accurate sometimes.
As for northeasters before then, fingers crossed.
Got out for a few hours at Gerroa....real light nor'easter, non-planing conditions. Sub 10 knots most of the time and a struggle to waterstart my 5.8. Still good fun with some chest to overhead high waves. Got punished a fair bit as the wind just died every time I was heading out through the impact zone.....No one speak of the forecast ever again. Finally got a sail in. O.k it wasn't the greatest wind in the world. The sun was shining and one could comfortly hang off the sail for 2hours. This was using 111 and 7.5 sail. Just nice to be out and not having rain coming down.![]()
Kyeemagh was amazingly good, with a 20-25kt NE out of nowhere and some nice sun... Didn't last too long (i'd say 2-4pm), but it was definitely the best we had in more than a month.... (or is it since the 5th of january?)
But don't worry, everything is back to normal now: rain, cold, clouds.
Went out at Long Reef yesterday and sailed Butterbox with Tim and Townie - was great for the first 30 minutes with set waves in the logo high range. Then the wind went completely and we all had a 45 minute swim in! This was about 3pm - way before it dropped off elsewhere.
Shame, thought it was going to be great!
well done getting out at longy Ben. it looked pretty light, DY was reading only 11 knots on the coastalwatch site and 19 knots at wanda. the difference still amazes me. I'm not sure where they read from but wanda looked pretty decent.
longy 'had potential' as always.
