I thought Joel and Ethan were the Cohen brothers

Yep, they're our talented older brothers. Sadly the talent has skipped our generation and we've been forced to windsurf instead. Such is life.

Sorry, there are way too many pics to sort through tonight so I'll upload them tomorrow. I'll leave you with one of the best pics of the day to satisfy your cravings until tomorrow.

Great idea, I'm all for it.
This format will encourage more people to come to comps, and enjoy the sport. This also is a great way to introduce the non competitive sailor to events, which will hopefully entice them to compete at the more serious events.

I also agree not many like to travel to a comp and come up against one of the better ranked sailors in the first heat get knocked out and then that's it, a ten hour drive for a ten minute sail.

If it was a perfect world and we all lived somewhere like Hawaii, then man on man heats would work well its windy all the time. I would support a one off state title that will entice all the better windsurfers to attend the comp, it would also give a fair result.

I'm starting to see the pluses now. If the stand alone comps don't count in an overal sense you could sail as a master in some and open at others if you were in the mood yea?

Or both. That would be fun.

I reckon the new format sounds unreal.
The best sailing day during the Nationals was the day no comp was held. Windang produced top conditions all day and most scored a couple of hours of super fun sailing. Everyone out there charging without the concern of stuffing your heat if you fall makes for some great spectating as you sail around.
If the comp was called on, half hour of sailing would have been the best most of us would have had with the balance of time spent in the tent or car park. Bring on all day expression sessions!!
And if you want the thrill of beating your nemesis in the man on man format you still have that option. Good one George.

Hey Tommy and Matt,
We should organise a bus from the north for all the trips to the South Coast next year.

Sounds great! Complete with someone to rig my gear and then carry it back up the beach after I've busted it... Now seeking a new boom!
