they were probably using debs on the canal. FM was when he broke the record. You can get away with stiffer fins on ultra flat water. They reckon the wind was a bit tight, so the water must have been a bathtub. On the speed tour its never very flat. Awesome effort. Stoked to see AA where he should be. The guy is a true champion and a machine on the water. Interesting to compare things now with back in the day. Good equipment is no longer exclusive to the top few.

Slowie, according to the MOS site, Finian had to fly from Maui to Munich then had a 12 hour drive to the canal arriving at midday. Needless to say he was a bit out of it that first day and on the second day beat Antoine into second.

Unfortunately, I think when they will get a good Mistral next week Antoine will be in Brazil sailing formula.
