Would like to get to S/P myself again sometime....last time I was there, was in 1989 for the w/surf speed trails, when it blew an insane 60knts one day and Mal Wright pulled 41+knts...a day I won't forget ..could barely hold the rig on the beach.
Some of you guys would remember that one, I think Tony Wyn was there also.
Has there been many days like that since?
Back then we needed a permit to drive into S/Point rigging area..is that still a requirement, if so where do we get one?
if your comen to kite then you wont get a answer my friend, kiters dont like the pit there are to many windsurfers.
plus to kite there you have to get permission by Kato, just send him a pm and he might let you in...
Fly to Bundaberg this weekend and sail in the Elliott River on a low tide.
It's gonna howl !!! I mean really howl !!!
Ignore wind readings from Double Island Pt, Cape Morteon and Cape Byron as htey too are on ruddy great hills which do not translate to on-water wind speeds.
Thanks for the imfo sailquik and kato....might see you guys there one day.![]()
PS. I don't get what the red thumbs are about...did I affend someone?![]()
yeah.
what he said!. my moneys on daffy. He's the mayor of Sandy Point. What he don't know about the pit ain't worth knowing......
Yeah I was there in 89 and 09. missed 04 as was was in retirement... Lets do the math.... Every 5 years? That means we could get another big day in 2014...... Imagine how fast the Koncepts will be by then![]()
Think we all just need to go sailing....
cheers Tony
