Troppo & I have our GPS's in the mail He's like a kid like waiting for Xmas

When they arrive I'll scout around town for a suitable bag, but if any of you young wise ones can suggest a bag for the Navi, it'd be appreciated

Cheers,
Bob.

Yeh Nebs, from Storage Depot.

You can't select Aus when ordering, in the delivery section. But email them asking how to, and they answer very quick, easy to deal with. I was emailing them at night our time, and got answers within minutes.

The storage depot guys have a pretty nifty arm strap for the Navi for about 5 quid (minus VAT). It may not be 100% waterproof , probably designed for cycling/walking but maybe it's sufficient to stop the impact splash pressure just enough to allow the unit's IPX7 waterproofing to cope.

Guys,

Roo set us up with the Aquapac Pro Sports case for our Navi Units - Bigger than the pac for a Garmin but it has a lot better seal and the velcro on the arm seems better.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll get onto it.

Bugger Yoyo, our Navi's are already on the way, that arm strap looks the go.
Would have been perfect for Troppo, as the Yorkies Knob Kid is worried about style/image

Firebob, did you order the gps units as one order? Did they charge twice the postage or did you save a bit there ?

Hi Yoyo,
I never got a price for one.
Couldn't select Aus for delivery, so got a price for two via email. Just checked my card, was charged $307, which I'm happy enough. In pounds it was 128, so I guess it was about 18 pounds for delivery.
I found a Canadian site a few Aussie dollars cheaper, but delivery was $33 Aus for one, $66 for two, so cost was alot more.

So what did they come with??
ie,
Charger?
download cable?
sd card?

If you get all those it seems better than the American deal, that comes with those and an aquapac

Still in the mail decrepit, but we only ordered the basic non bluetooth unit, it only comes with charger and a cable.
I'm sure the cable is only good for the internal memory. The go is to use a SD card & a card reader with your PC. I already have the card and a Card reader, so just need to get the aqua pac.

Got my last query from Storage Depot on Thursday (26/4) asking if they could send 3 in one box. Grumps's was part of the shipment.
Arrived at work in the arvo on Monday (30/4)
I was off site and did not pick em up till yesterday

Troppo, on the SD card front. The Navi works properly with only 2.8v sd cards.

"Not all memory cards work in a NaviGPS. It is known that only 2.85v cards work. Any other voltage will not work, however it can be difficult to discover what voltage any particular card is.

" Known to work
The following cards are known to work:

SanDisk Ultra II - 1Gb/2Gb
SanDisk Ultra II Plus (with integral USB connector) - 512Mb
SanDisk Ultra II Plus (with integral USB connector) - 1.0Gb
SanDisk 512Mb, 1Gb
Panasonic branded 16Mb
Impact branded 256Mb
Kingston Ultimate 133x 512MB

Known to NOT work
"Canon" branded 32Mb
"Jessops" branded 512Mb (corrupts see below)
"Palm" branded 128Mb (corrupts see below)

Troubleshooting

The NaviGPS expects a FAT-16 file system so don't expect cards with more than 2GB to work.
The NaviGPS is a bit fussy about the formatting of the file system. If you have problems, try reformatting the card using the NaviGPS's built-in memory card format command. Cards formatted using Linux seem to be more prone to problems"
