If you enjoy sailing fast, (Which it looks like you do) you should join a team.
Have a look at www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au/
It's incredible, somebody speed sailing at LG is unaware of the GTC.
After all it was mainly through the GTC that LG became famous round Aus and to a lesser extent Internationally.

Ahh. That explains it, never mind you're back now, and have discovered on of the best flat water spots in Aus!
Trouble is, there's a fairly narrow window when it's at it's best.
It looks like you have a GW60 watch, so you're all set up to join a Team and become part of the great GPSTeam Challenge, family
Trip to Lake George, couple weeks ago, 4am start return back to home by 10pm, 850km driving 110km of sailing. UNREAL
Great bunch of guys. Took on choppy conditions for lake george ha ha, Sam pulled 42 knots crazy bastard. Distroyed all his gear letting it go over the chop crashing at 41knots. had to walk back across weed for 2 hrs. only board and boom survived the crash. Carl nearly got 40knots. Stash and I around 37.5knots.
water a bit high and no exposed weed beds. Still fun times. Ill try attach video.
Great video ! How cold was it??? ![]()
Did you have a dry suit on?
Hope Sam had a super warm wettie. he would have been cold after that walk. brr
What rake weedy did you have?
ah, sweet memories... only 7 months to go ![]()
Some days it was freezing in summer, I cannot imagine how could it would be now

Ahhh, that said, I am not planning on any local windsurfing for a few months either. ![]()
hey,
I ran a black project weed speed 28 in the JP 59cm 96L board with 7.0m perfect
I ran a black project weed speed 25 in the JP 49cm 63L with 6.2 R8 great as well
cold - yes but I'm prepared for this winter. I have 3/2 rip curl flash bomb, booties, hoot, plus rip curl heat bomb vest (heated) plus wind proof kayaking jacket, plus gloves. I didn't activate the vest , I was too hot with the wind proof jacket on. I think the wind jacket was the best investment at 100$. I over heated so took wind proof off but got cold on shore without it so put it back on. Instantly warmer.
I also have a hot water service on my 4wd with 100L of potential hot water but we use alot washing our sails. There is nothing better than coming it and filling yr whole wetsuit with 45 degree water. All of the above has changed my winter sailing experience. I HATE being cold.
Sam some how stayed warm and just needed a beer at the end of his epic. Carl was pretty cold but jumped under the hot shower and thought he was i heaven.
A choppy day at Lake George is still bloody fun. The normal weed beds that are easy to see are under water so its hard to pick which smooth bits are actually sail able. 1st world problems.
cheers

I love the bit where your sitting in the hailstorm and say " come to Lake George".
I remember standing in a squall with pouring rain with my foot wedged in the bottom braced against the icey wind and waves..brr I was thinking the coffee shop sounds good atm.. that was in summer! ![]()
I'd just tried to sail through a squall / willy willy and got thrown in the air. I remember seeing the board and sail above me like an upside down jump.![]()
