Hi my name is Binny I am a middle aged female windsurfer, I live in Mandurah, and currently a member of the Mandurah Mob. I did my gps speed trials with them last weekend, and The best speeds I could manage was in the low 20 knots, and after seeing the looks on Elmo's and Hardie's faces, I can tell they want me out! They say they want me in, but the looks on their faces and lack of conviction gives them away, I couldn't stand it, imagine they are all doing 35knots plus, and I turn up with a 21 knot, I know how competitive those guys are, I would hate the vibe I would create. I windsurf for fun.

I would like to join a team of oldies, or females that are in it just for the fun, and exercise.

Is there a safet Bay team I could join, or other mandurah oldies team?

BTW there is no way I ever want to be part of the Mandurah Mob, even though I may sail with them from time to time.

Bull****, I can read body language, when I did a "pathetic" speed of 19 knots, the words "its tough conditions" the body language, walk away and get into a huddle with the boys.

Hardies talking to himself again.

Big fella

She's in the team.

Don't forget when it gets to cold for your tootsies young binnies 19knots is quicker than what you can do under the quilt

If anyone's for inclusiveness, it's Hardie... maybe you slightly misread him?

It can be tough when the other members of a team are more experienced, but personally I love having to really push myself to get close to the other team members! It will improve your sailing no end, and the other team members will go all out to help you improve.
It's easier to get that extra knot when you're going 23 knots compared to 33 knots, and both will improve your teams average by the same amount

Go for it!

For all those concerned, my reasns for finding another team, is becasue I am competetive my self, and would love to compete with others on more level playing field, rather than starting way behind. I 'm also a bit of a caretaker, and I don't want to feel bad about being the slowest.

The Cockroaches Sub 30's (or maybe sub 25's!! - knts not age)
Rule no. 1
Anyone who cracks 30 knt buys a case of beer (premium Aussie)
Rule No.2
Anyone who cracks 35 knt buys beer & puts on BBQ
Rule No. 3
there are no more rules

Binny,I am finding it hard to compose myself, Jaysee (wife) sitting next to me reading this, must say your slam dunk "I live with the prick" bought the house downLOAO
Welcome to join Pinna's, we are a long way from home (think of the many scenic drives to and from Pinnaroo and all stops in between)
And as a bonus you automatically rank as probably the fastest of the two of us from up this way. Actually with a log of 19 knots, "YOU are the fastest
Actually, might not be a bad idea, as we can then have an inside spy and a local forecaster to advise, "its going off down here, get your coits down for a blast"

This is part of the reason why I don't do team stuff any more.

Having been a mediocre sportsman all my life putting up with people criticizing my best efforts, I don't need this kind of crap going on in something I do for fun.

Just as well I haven't filled in any forms yet, I think I'll just keep on sailing for myself and just chase my PB's.

Meh just remember that despite the fastest guys efforts 1 day of good wind at sandy point and the fastest of everywhere else will get their a$$es kicked.

I was pretty sure hardie made it clear from the start this was fun event. Maybe teams should make it clear that they are serious or otherwise, even the fast ones get cr@p cause they'd rather take waveboard out than go speedsailing.

I thought initially that brisbane would have had the same problem but it seems to have all worked out ok so far.

Everytime they have their male huddle just think of crafty ways to make him pay

GPS is great but it's just one big competitive bubble, eventually there will be consequences.

Elmo, you too could be a Southern member Pinna's

Bloody works transferred me to Welshpool operations, might as well sell up this end and get a house down your way. Flaming 1 hour ten to get to work
Ah well that means that Lucky bay is just around the corner from work for "after work play times" as a positive on the move I reckon

I love windsurfing, and also enjoy a bit of competition, have tended to sail on my own since taking it up in my early 40's , thought this speed sailing event would be a good way to have a race with someone I had a chance to keep up with, Elmo and Hardie and Ben are way out of my league.

Guys Binny and I were mucking around and having a good laugh, I was on the floor laughing with our banter......... we deliberately didn't use coz we wanted to stir!!!!!!!!!!

She know's she's welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And she's given her own genuine reasons for wanting to be in another team!!!!!!!!!

I did the wrong thing and sms'd my dearest friend, telling him I was serious.........Coz I wanted to stir it up (I'm a fool sometimes, always take the joke too far) Shows you what a real prick I am

However, this is an inportant discussion about seriousness versus fun, for me it's fun first!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad elmo and all of the rest of you have come out in support of Binny, It's wonderful!!!!!!!! She feels really supported and valued by everyone, and believe me, living with me she needs it!!!!!!

Binny, Nar Nar mate, they are just doing a smooth sell on ya girlie. dont listen to em.
We can sign you up to a, say 5 year contract, lucrative deal. Lots on promise, zip on actualise, but details, Pfffft only mere details. Be our surprise packet, cos we know you can go at least 19knots. That's about 10knots faster than me and watching my other team mate, say at least 9 knots faster than him. So top billing
And we can get you a good write up on Seabreeze referring how the human body can go above 15knots, without disintegrating

You guys had me in stitches, I had this vision of one of you putting in a post then 10 mins later the other looking at the topic and thinking what the..... What made it hilarious for me was the fact that you may have had only one PC and were communicating using seabreeze instead of talking to each other. I was laughing about it all the way to the beach.
Computer tell Hardie he's a prick. Good on you guys Computer says no

I was laughing my head off after each of her replies!! I did the first one on her behalf, she says, she wouldna said what I said, then she took over!!!!!!! I know I really am a prick!!

I owe apologies to the person I sms'd and said I booted binny off the team and she was very hurt, forgot to use LOL, and tounge in cheek. That would've been a very cruel thing to do to anyone!!!

What made me laugh originally was Binny telling me how I'm always saying how: "I'm not taking this seriously Bin", "it's just for fun", and then she describes how totally obsessive I am, = She says as soon as I put the gps on , I get the white line fever!

She reckons it starts in the rigging process, "You need 2.5 cm more downhaul there mate, the leech needs to be loose, to 6cm from the 4th batten or else you'll have too much back hand pressure in the gusts mate" When she asks for help it's "hang on hun, I'll give you a hand after I've sanded the leading edge of the fin it's got a scratch on it, I need to sand it with 400 grade first then finish it with 800"...... and this she says is before I even get on the water...... On the water she reckons I obessively check every run's speed...... compare mine with Elmo,...... and then one of us is totally devastated, while the other is totally ecstatic.........., and this happens, 33 times a sesh she says (never!),........ and then the mast track is adjusted after each run, 5mm fwd,..... 7 mm back,...... outhaul backed off 6 mm,...... downhaul 4mm,...... and this after every run,(I'm sure it's after every 2nd run)....... Then supposedly "We go screaming passed her and knock her off her board", leaving her feeling like a pathetic snail..........then when finished windsurfing....... we supposedly analyse everything for an hour when de-rigging, then do computer analysis for 2 hours....... And then she says to me "Joseph, I really think I'm gonna hold you guys back, and I think I'd be more comfortable on another team"... and I say "Bin,.. I'm not taking it seriously, it's just for fun" (insert pinnochio emoticon).......Binny's response

That's why we were laughing so much, she made me see how my behaviour was completely opposite to what was coming out of my mouth, and so I just went stupid with it!!!!!
