I havent tried these newer BP Fins, but i got a set of BP weedies a few years back (before they were black in colour). I found that the leading edge was slightly concave particularly near the tip. It meant it caught bits of thin ribbon weed at the tip when i was sailing with Jacques at Swan bay. We checked the fins with a straight edge and it was minor, but there. You can almost see it in this photo posted above (reposted below with some scribble on it). Big difference compared to the MXR which is clearly convex. Like i said, only really minor, but its what i found. They clearly work though as many of you people are posting some nice results with them.
Clearly the boxes should be further forward in the boards for weedies
A couple of years back Anthony Perkins in Tassie made a special slot box for his speed board.
There were a few photos on here about it.
I don't recall if he ever tested it & posted any findings.
Someone might be able to dig up the post, I don't have much luck searching
I think Seabreeze used to "cleanse" older posts. Not sure if they still do but I had the same problem of looking for something I KNEW was there but I could no longer find.
(Edit..)
Good ol' Google... I hate them for their prying but it is hard to live without them...

and here is Anthony's Video
You hear talk about all the difference moving a mast base back or forward a cm makes. Is that only because it is adjustable? Maybe it doesn't matter all that much. The trim box died a natural death.
True! Mast base position is really only adjustable to trim the foot level between largest and smallest sails for a given board, and to compensate for different shaped sails.
However, I don't think the death of the Trimbox was 'natural'.
I think it was all about industry interests, licences and marketing. There was nothing inherently wrong with it, and it had the advantage of fore/aft adjustment. It was only available on a very few brands of boards and didn't get market traction as a result.
