fastest FSW board

Any advice on the best freestyle wave board for blasting and bump and jump around 100 ltr ish try fin or single fin am looking for good top end any advice be appreciated.

Hi LeeD I'm 80 ish kilo and will want to use in small wave but don't want wave board and on flatter sea state want go blasting. My sail range for the board will be 5 and 6 mtr I was looking at kode 103 and 3s classic but will take look at your recommendations tho.

I doubt you'll find a FSW faster than an older Kode - my 94L 2012 (?) did 37 knots a few times in big mid-river chop (with a slalom fin).

Nerdycross, does it have to be FSW? If so I say 3S, I've had mine very nearly keep up with a slalom board.

it doesn't have to be FSW but I do want the option to sail in small wave in different locations and blasting on flat water . After reading more on the tabou 3s it appears tabou have reincarnated the classic to 3s mabe to help speed I've been offered a RRD FSW 106 v3 locally and seller told me it's very fast for blasting with good fin fitted.

I don't have any need for speed.
a FSW that's more Freeride oriented, but then that's what the question poses .
i never felt my 3S were fast, newer could be
the Exocets mentioned
my pick would be a Naish Starship.
If pockets were deep enough a custom.

They are still here and updated for 2020 with version 5. A bit shorter (without giving in a funny 'stubby' look) and a bit narrower behind the rear straps. If I was looking for a 5m - 6m board like nerdycross I'd be looking at a 94l one. I use my 94l V4 with 4.5m - 6.5m, sweet spot sails are 5.2 & 6m for blasting around on. They have a longer planing flat than more wavier FSW boards, without tail kick for early planing and speed. I do have a smaller FSW for when there are actually rideable waves though.

I almost got the 84ltre version of this..

95 or 105 tabou rocket, pretty fast nice in chop , even had my 105 out at Lancelin in the waves , it jumps well ,

What is the difference between the Exocet Cross Carbon and Cross Silver ? I had a 2012 Cross IV in STD construction which was a really great board. The Silver looks very close in weight to the Carbon but same shape, different construction. Not very well explained on the website.

The current 2020 website is useless. It looks like they have copied the Carbon version specs in the Silver page. Also, the diagram showing the construction and the archive has gone. It looks like they have the same weight for both on the 2019 specs as well, but called the Silver a Silver and not a Carbon. There is no way a glass version would be the same weight as a carbon one. Edit. Actually, cancel that, I think I was comparing 2019 to 2020 versions.
When the archive was on the website I downloaded a copy of some of the years as a PDF. Was your 2012 std version a white decked one? From the specs, if they are to be believed, that was a bit heavier than the more recent Silver version. The 2012 details just list it as single shot glass, no diagram.
My guess would be that they have kept the same construction as 2017, I took a copy then. There is a believable different of 0.5kg on the 94l. There is a contact form on the current website, try asking them and see what they come back with. Hopefully the screenshots appear here.

In 2018 I wanted to replace my 2005 V1 Cross and a shop across the Channel in France had a slightly used Cross 94 Carbon for the same price as a new Cross Silver (they were discounted at the end of the year). I bought the used Carbon and dont regret it. I've also got a 2008 Cross 106, the same construction as the 2005 I think. That version is mainly glass with some carbon patches as enforcement. The all carbon version is definitely lighter and nicer to sail. The DDSA footpads dampen out any harshness of the stiffer carbon hull. If I were to buy a new 104/114 I'd go Carbon and the 94l a toss-up, but more likely the carbon. I dont do much jumping, just blasting around.

Some manufacturers like Patrik for instance, do a good job on their websites, loads of information and this year a decent video. In 2015 I nearly bought a RRD Firestorm LTD after a demo ride, but there was no construction info on the website. The shop rang the UK importer and he just replied 'I dont know but it weighs about what I would expect'. I didnt buy one. Few shops carry much stock so website's information is important to sell stuff.

OP, is the title here the actual question, Fastest ?

My observation from lining up against the locals on various boards. The current JP FSW is fast.......Severne Dyno appears quite fast. Then if you want to try and find an older board...pretty old now but the 2010 RRd FSW was really fast and great for blasting...a bit stiff for wave sailing though.

The older FSW boards tended to be faster, circa 2007+.

i had a few jp Fsw and noticed every year they have added a bit more manouverability. I still have a 2007 and 2012, the 2007 easier to extract speed.

if you want something on the faster side in rough water but still easy to throw around, I have a 94l 2012 SB futura. The tails on this thing is quite pointy so easy to control in all sorts of conditions. It also has inboard straps which I haven't tried. Works 4.7-6.2. Not for waves but works in big swell.

It's been mentioned already, starboard Kode 94. Mine is 2013, it is the fastest, I just checked. Double back strap, outboard front straps. Totally rips in open water.
