OK I shouldn't cos its just harping on / pimping but TBH this is the best freewave I've ever sailed, so fast and smooth can take a 34cm/7.5 and blast, on 5.5 and thruster its a magic turner on a wave

Unless your windsurfing has become static and not progressing, no 'magic' board remains so indefinitely! It's just the memories that linger. (which is a good thing ) ![]()
I still retain (hoard?) many (all?) of my old 'Magic' boards, but when I get on them again now, which I do from time to time for nostalgia, I can definitely tell that my perception of 'magic' has evolved. My current, newer 'Magic' boards are possessed with significantly more 'Magic' than those older ones.
And, somewhat surprisingly, they make me feel like I am a much better windsurfer than I probably really am. LOL! ![]()
Moral: 'Magic" is fleeting'. Live in the moment, not the past. ![]()
Two "magic" boards owned. Ridden why range of 69 to 110L boards from different makers over the decades. Still own and use the now ancient two boards. Mainly because there is no real need to "upgrade". Don't replace boards until I break them. Focus on riding. Not the gear. Friends note: "moths in the wallet"; "I hear birds, cheap, cheap...." You need to "upgrade"...blah, blah, blah.......
"01 Tiga New Wave 86L. Light & stiff. Slashy and smooth through ugly chop. Wave sailing using the smaller sibling (76 or 78L) on Maui back a few decades ago. Loved it. Came home and purchased a new, but one year old 86L for moderate wind days.
v1 RRD Firemove 100L. A board I never would have considered if not ridden. Use to head off to the Red Sea for autumn trips. Nice small center on the west side of the Sinai stocked RRD and Starboard. One light wind day was thinking about using the RRD FSW 96L. Greg, one of the owners noted to try the FireMove. The too wide pig board. Gave it try. Impressed with the efficiency of the board. Basically a board that doesn't do anything as the "best". Slow, but exceptional at popping up on the plane, stays planing in the lulls, almost too easy to jibe and real wide wind range. One board to cover 90-110L range. Using it with Ezzy Cheetah 6.5M and Zeta 5.8, 5.2M sail with an old Made In AUS Finworks FS Pro. Sustained winds of 11-23kt comfort range.
Hard to choose between Windsurfer LT or Quatro Cube. Different conditions, but both magic in their niche.
