I started as a 13yo in 1983. Now 46 and I will only stop when my body gives up on me. Very good to hear from sailors in their 60s and 70s here and still going strong.
Windsurfing is my happy place.
funny..had a good laugh .....amazing how the harness and board are the last things to rot ,other than the bones .hair and sunnies ..
.
A few 70+ sailors on the Goldie with one being 79 with artificial hip, knee etc and still not looking at giving it up!
Phew, good to know you can still sail with synthetic hips and knees. Mine knees are pretty rough and painful at 48, hopefully I can get a few years more out of them before a reco.

Hope shoulder joint replacements get invented soon! I'll get a "Job Lot" Knees and shoulders!
56 myself,,,,been sailing 30 years. But the key is to stay active. I still surf, sup and do a maintenance workout during flat spells. Over the last 4-5 years the only thing I've backed off on is the freestyle, as that definitely is a young man's game, at least the new school freestyle. ;) I'm also not going for the huge air anymore, as I can feel my knees quiver on landings. Other than that, my goal is the backside wave 360 this year and my stbd side forwards have always sucked. ;) I have some friends who are in their 60's and still killing it in the waves. I think I'll be able to go out and still catch a wave in my 70's.
