My issue with barns and crichs idea is the inner tube is to light to create and decent inertia . . my suggestion is to find someone with a streamline boom head ... The rest speaks for itself .
As suggested. Cut the foam at the top.tap out from.top down.
The foam.plug is usually only 10 cm long may.
You do not even need the foam anyway. If you want seal it up with a bit of silicone when you have fixed it
Glad you got it out.
Something to keep in mind in future, if something bad happens and you destroy some gear, put on your saddest face and take it to your local shop. They often have sorted out the same problem before. If they can't sort it then a decent shop will sell you a replacement at cost price. That's why you buy stuff from a shop and not from the internet.
You usually need to speak to the owner of the business, or a senior sales person. The kid sweeping the floors or peering at the phone won't have the discretion to make a sizable discount. Sometimes the owner can be a hard arse but the guy who runs the windsurf section can be very helpful. The incentive for them is it costs them nothing to help you and they get you as a customer for life.
yeah, cheers. I agree - unfortunately I bought this mast from a mate. As I mentioned earlier I've found shops with a focus on windsurfing to be exceptional - compared to my history in surfing and cycling, they are so much friendlier, more welcoming and happy to help / share the stoke. make you feel welcome, not wasting their time until they speak to the next Pro-rider/someone at their level.
