It's one of the few moments where I really feel I am who I am meant to be.

Flow, also known as Zone, is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.

I had a friend ask, who can see us windsurfers from his balcony, "Why do you want to windsurf every afternoon? You just go across and back, what's the point of it?" "There' s no point to it," I said, " But if you could fly, just by putting your arms out, fly above the water, fast or slow, and turn, and touch the water, and fly across the bay again on a beautiful sunny afternoon, or even a rainy day, and fly downwind, and back upwind again, why wouldn't you want to do it. Why wouldn't you want to do it nearly every day of you life."

As Laird Hamilton said back in the 80's, "pure joy".

Rigmarole. Watched it so many times the tape eventually broke and I had to crack open the VCR to get it out.

It's like I am holding my breath between sessions and can only breathe deeply again when windsurfing.
