A few of us Mexicans are having another crack at this event. Hopefully a few more locals show up this time
as it was good fun. Much more events this time so its worth the 10hr+ drive to get a bit of sun ![]()

Should be a great event Kato
actually part of the NSW Slalom Series this year (no events on the weekend before or weekend after) so expect a good roll up from NSW this year.
This looks like it could be a great event. The website lists the following events on offer to windsurfers:
Saturday 12.20 to 12.50 is a speed event. Fastest run down a fixed length course, average speed recorded with your own GPS.
Saturday 1.00 to 3.00 Course racing
Saturday 3.15 to 4.15 Long distance downwind slalom
Sunday 11.00 - 11.45 Dash across Jervis bay and back
Sunday 2.05 to 4.00 Course Racing
Windsurfing is just one small part of this event, the organizers are running a huge number of different events over the weekend. I am surprised to see windsurfing events scheduled to start from 11.00am as there is little chance of wind at this time of day. Apparently Windsurfing NSW are organizing the Course racing. So will there be different races for Formula, Raceboard, LT, Slalom, Foil etc?
What will the minimum wind requirement be for these events? Should we all pack foils? Or will there be no racing under 12 kts
All booked and ready to go! Looks like an awesome event. At worst, If we don't get wind at least there will be plenty to do and see.
Really looking forward to this one and am hoping we (1) get some nice breeze and (2) we see a good turn out. Note that the DW will have some logistics involved in either sailing back up to Calalla or loading gear in each others vehicles / trailers. Nothing that sound communication between us cannot fix.
I am also booked in . Still plenty of sites at White Sands Holiday Park.
Looking forward to a great event and plenty of us Windsurfers attending.
Great that this event is going to be part of the NSW slalom series because that was a fantastic set of racing weekends last year, thanks marmong team.
Also for the Mexicans coming up, bring your best fins, the NSW slalom fins are veerrry sharp and verrry fast right now.

Sharpened by NQ coral reefs? as Muz could attest. I just hope the local serves Espresso martinis as im sure its my round!

So football and strata fins then Dezza ??
As well as being part of the Slalom series, it is part of the Raceboard series and on the calendar of all the course-racing classes so we should have a pretty big fleet. The entries are open and are offering an early bird discount until the end of August (1 week to go so start clicking!) The entry is on a per day basis so you can enter for either or both Saturday and Sunday. The pricing goes up again on September 28 then there is a late entry and an on the day entry. Go for the best value and enter now.
Looking forward to blasting all over Jervis Bay.....
Just looking at the entry prices on the Sand and Sea website, Saturday is $70 and Sunday only $50 if paid before end of August. I vaguely recall that the prices were higher when I looked a month or so ago?

Ok I'm registered now too, $120, did anyone else tick the Sunset Party for $17? Or will that be outside Kato's trailer? ![]()
Better get a site booked too, going to be a biiig weekend
Looks like there are two camp sites in Huskisson, "Huskisson Beach" and "White Sands" which one are the windsurfers planning to stay at?
Looking at Google maps it looks like the southern one "Huskisson Beach" may have better access to the water for launching directly from your camp site
First release tickets on sale until Saturday 28 September get in now to avoid the late entry pricing.
Good news! the organisers have extended the early bird rates until midnight Monday so take advantage of this great opportunity to sail on one of the most pristine waters around.
For windsurfers the events are
Speed Challenge Saturday 12:20
Course racing Saturday 13:00 2x Windward / Leeward, 1x 30m GPS Freerace (sailor choice)
Jervis Bay Downwinder Saturday 15:15
After Party Saturday evening
Dash across the Bay Sunday 11:00 (reaching each way)
Course racing Sunday 14:05 2-3 x Windward / Leeward, 2x 30m GPS Freerace (sailor choice)
You buy a day pass for each day which allows you to go in any or all of the windsurf activities of the day.

What's the go with the course racing?
Keen to race with an old Mistral O OD but using a modem sail. OK or does it have to have the original gear ?
No problem. Use what you like. The event results will be across the line. For different classes that are using the event as a round of their series they will use the order of their class finishers extracted from the overall event result. If there is a large number of one class they may start separately. We will work that out when we have the numbers.
