Hahahahaa.
"Improved performance on standard masts" in incredibly small writing please leave the sail rigged at all times to avoid crinkling your sail.
Tomorrow I might have time to go to the shop and ask the manager to rig without crinkling and remove the wrinkles. I do hope that I am being a muppet and he can set it up correctly.
The shop was closed today. I will just have to drop in again.
I was looking at the RRD promo video for the sails. Here is a screenshot as the guy is rigging it. What do you recon good for the sail?

To me, something went very clearly wrong in production.
As I do not think RRD likes the idea of customers complaining about bad manufacturing, they are rather concerned about being the very best brand on the market, I am pretty sure that the sail will be replaced.
Unless of course the shop keeper will be able to rig it correctly. Which I do not believe, but maybe.

I certainly cannot see anything wrong from the images regarding the manufacturing. These battens are made so that they are easy to remove and it simply hasn't been set right. The bend curve of the luff should work well once it is rigged properly, with the correct mast and settings.

Place all the battens on the same side of mast in the front, i.e. below the mast, when rigging and derigging.
Having said that, it's never pretty scrunching the sail. It makes me weep every time.
To avoid that, I pull the sail up from the mast pocket when I start removing the mast. It significantly reduces the scrunching.
