The Carve is a well regarded board. For your weight it is also the biggest board you will ever need as you move forward in windsurfing. I know you have said you want to progress to wave sailing eventually but I think it's a mistake to focus on that at this stage of your development. There are limited opportunities for wave sailing in Qld and the spots we do have are pretty technical.

The freeriding you will do on this board (and your next purchase - 100 litre FSW board) is exactly the preparation you need before moving to more advanced stuff. If you get yourself out on open waters you will lean about sailing through waves, gybing in troughs, and turning down wave faces for acceleration. The 100 litre board you eventually get you will be able to take in real surfing waves where the experience you gain over the next two years will serve you well.

Made the decision today to go the JP Magic Ride 119 ES.
