duempeln in German language (2nd and 3rd letter go in one, a u with two dots/points on top)
slogging is the English one I heard most often, then float n ride (but only when talking waveriding)
On a raceboard/longboard: Upwind railing (on the harness with a grin on your face >~ 5knots)

Yes offplane is boring sailing with shortboard, relaxed cruising with mid lenght and enjoyment on raceboard.

Dolphin watching on 165ltr board. I did miles of it today happily waiting for wind.
I've always called it ploughing since the 1980s, but I rarely (never?) hear others use it. Only one other has mentioned it in this thread.
