E1550 = at least A$2600 (Plus freight, GST and customs duties will likely exceed A$3000)

That is almost 3 times the prices of a good quality carbon boom and close to the cost of a brand new brand name windsurfing board (which are also waaaay overpriced)

That is not to say that there are some very nice features of this boom. At a competitive price (less than half that) ir would be a very attractive alternative. Still, here will be some very wealth entusuasts that will stop up for it just as there are people who buy other rediculously priced toys. But it will be in very small numbers. That probably suits them though as the margin is enormous!

Now if they has the confidence in their design that it could see in large numbers at a competitive price, they would also probably do well and get a good return on their investment in a good time period. Who knows, but I doubt very much that this boom could ever provide just a small percentage in actual on the water performance (speed/Handing) improvement over a good existing carbon boom, so why would you pay 3 times the price???

But absolutely no prices for anything on the website that I can find.

Edit: The grip is available on Ebay.

I have put in a price request on the website.

The twist lock pulley? Take my money! How many times has the line caught on the corncob?

Ben could make a good living working on a shopping channel if he decides to change careers.

Nice! ... I think I will buy some, wrap on my existing grip, and test the grip!

If it is thinner + grippier .. then it is a big win for my forearms! .. then I will replace the existing grip.

Lol John, I wish!!!
Rod, I redid my boom in the fishing grip stuff. Worked good, but you have to get it absolutely spot on otherwise water gets in and it twists.
Gone back to normal boom grip.

At that price just for a boom....... it would have to be a built in sat nav, blind spot mirror and reverse camera.

Yes pricey, but my guess is he's not too worried if he doesn't sell thousands of them

I need to fix a cracked tooth and that might cost more than the boon

Price per gram of a crown v this boom

Life of crown v good carbon boom probably about the same

Good to see some real innovation for a change.
A couple of really good ideas
Very minor changes but clever.
Yes it's expensive but kit like this is expensive to make.
I'm guessing all the Pros will use them but the general public, not so sure.
Only time will tell

Price seems comparable to other brands .. a bit more, but not significantly more to justify all the frantic complaints here ...

Yeah, right! LOL

More likely, someone will copy some, or all of the 'features' and sell them for less than half that price.

Andrew, It depends what you buy. Just looking at the Duotone Range. The RRP for their booms is as follows:
- Duotone Black (Alu) from $400
- Duotone Silver (Alu) from $480
- Duotone EPX Carbon from $1220
- Duotone Platinum from $1700
- Duotone Platinum Aero from $2600

There are a number of the the Platinum Aeros in SE Qld. I have an EPX
