Geralds are so confusing!

This puts a whole new spin on things.

Planing can therefore be a present participle, gerund and adjective.

I am learning more from here than all my years of Catholic school education.

Planing is the best thing about windy days (gerund, acting like a noun)

Gary was planing through his gybes beautifully (present participle)

Mary wanted to get out in planing conditions (adjective).

Yes Belly, seabreeze may attract a mish-mash of non-judgemental under-educated illiterate people, but who said there was nothing valuable to learn here?

Just imagine, next time the other half has a go at you for wasting time on seabreeze again..."No darling, I'm actually brushing (present participle) up on my grammar".

Planning is when you push a rough plank of wood through the planner and the chisels spinns to make it flat and even... no? I did carpentry school. I know.

Don't realy undastand y people are so up in arms about a bit of speling and gramma, in most cases, unless ur a complete idiot u can still comprehend what the person ment to say. Not everyone is good at speling or punctuation just like some people don't excel at maths or science. I'm alright at spelling and gramma most of the time but sometimz when I'm tired or in a rush I just can't be bothered being overly pedantic about things, sometimes (shock, horror) I just make mistakes or genuinely don't know were to wak the comma or semi colon. If that offends half the world I wood kindly suggest that half of the world get over it and find better things to concern itself with and pick apart. Who realy cares and does it realy matta at the end of the day?

Some of us do care.

The point of spelling correctly (or at least making an effort to do so), is that it makes your message easy to understand.

Sure, most people can understand misspelt text but why make it harder than necessary for them?

^^ Yes it's a slippery slope that leads to inevitable moral decline and debasement. Along the way you will lose all hope, all dignity, all self respect until you

emerge as coprophagous bacterium living in **** with only the vaguest memory of spelling or even language. Your entire mental oeuvre will be reduced to

rude imperatives to eat **** and divide and you wont have to spell anything. Is that what you really want?

I was planing on Saturday afternoon.

But I was all alone, with only a mother storm petrel and the outgoing tide for company.

Time tables still are important. 'Specially if you have a connection to catch.
