I bought quite a lot and its been used for small grip handles on SUP paddles and fishing rods.
I did my X9 180-230 with it 2 years back. It turned out great for the most part. Unfortunately if you dont the ends completely sealed down a small bit of salt water gets in and starts working its way forward. So my user error.
As far as the grip itself, its hard wearing, non slip and OK on the skin.
Pretty easy to put on as well. Get the smallest diameter you can get away with and use a good quality heat gun.

Is grip really needed? Why can't carbon boom arms be simply dimpled like weightlifting bars?

I wonder how that stuff would work with the famous Imax v grip?

Booms are probably made in China.

Just as an aside if anyone was curious. I followed up with the company out of China response below **I did state I didn't care about colour

Just checked, we didn't have any stock for this size and color at all. Owing to the COVID-19, we did't stock any kinds of size and color of this products.

Hope you can understand.

Would tear up gloves and hands! Especially with salt water.

Went sailing with wetsuit gloves yesterday - hadn't sailed for a couple of weeks and both forearms went tight almost straight away - does wearing gloves effectively increase diameter of boom ? Or maybe because I haven't sailed for while - I took them off and felt better

Plenty available on Ebay and Amazon, look up "Heat Shrink Grip". I've recently re-gripped a boom, looks and feels great, but have not used it yet.
