So a new world brings new challenges and with no International travel at the moment what better time to check out our great coastline and a place that I hold dear to my heart during winter months is Port Douglas.

Yeah doesn't look too bad I suppose but meanwhile here at Manly we have a warm 25 knots from the NE, pretty bikini girls and free beer.

You can visit too!

Sorry... I didn't mean right away, and what are you worried about anyway, you have a great place to sail. You just need a 3mm wesuit to put over the 6mm one... Brrrr

Do you need to do any croc dodging?

The jungle drums were beating and the Phantom climbed out of the skull cave and donned his holiday rainbow board shorts..........."the ghost who Wingdings" and mentors foiling

Apparently there's been some Crocs and Roughnecks spotted in the river mouth nearby.

Not sure what a roughneck is but the prospect of being taken by a croc is enough reason to stay at home.

Should've stayed @ Green Island 20 - 30 knots all day today and less roughnecks

The Phantom normally wrestles the crocs with his bare hands before sternly sending them upstream

Just out of interest, because I have only kited there, what's the depth like everywhere else for sailing?

I am guessing its fine as you are using foils.

Its a beautiful place there this time of year and no doubt everyone would prefer to be there.

Yep, launching from our house which is about 1 km north of the point on 4 Mile beach there is plenty of water straight off the beach.

When I was driving up to Port Douglas from Cairns each day, I would look across to a river bank on the left and there would always be a croc sunning itself.... Lucky they don't tend to be out in the 'cold' winter!

Water starts are so much easier when you have motivation
