Sorry Johnny there won't be a poster with this next edition but I can promise you that there are a bunch of guys working their asses off now to bring you content that is so fresh and innovative that every windsurfer in the world will be looking to our mag before any others.
this is a big issue for us, 100 pages of just pure windsurfing content to commemorate one year of publishing windsurfer magazine Australia.
Poster for Johnny to commemorate two years in 12 months time, i promise.
guys I went to subscribe and it tells me 3 issues for $88.
have I got it wrong here or is it $30 per mag?
That price is for international customers and is largely due to postage costs. It is $30 annually for domestic customers.
cheers al,
can you give me the link so I can subscribe? I've followed the link posted previously in this thread
Just got my latest issue and can't believe how but my magazine was soaked through wet INSIDE the plastic covering. It was sealed and it had not been raining on the day of delivery. Anyone else had an issue like this? It's now over 2 days since I got it and it STILL isn't dried out which is really weird.
*edit- I don't give a rat's proverbial but why the hell would I get red thumbed for this post???
I checked out the new WIND mag in the newsagent today. A quick flick disappointed me because of all the non Australia articles. I didn't buy it....not yet anyhow.
Great potential.. Love it!
Hi there, Just send me a personal message and ill send you a replacement copy

All the non Australian articles???? you got to be joking.
There's only one non aussie article and that's on Taty Franz, the reason why we ran that is because we did a massive freestyle special and it was fitting to have something from him.
Every other article is either on an Aussie or set in Australia. Sailquick, maybe you were looking at the UK mag?
Here's what we have inside:
-In this edition we turn our attention to freestyle and feature the best in the business Sara Quita.
-Al Bentley offers his tips for nailing some of the moves that matter and we have a feature on Taty Frans and the Carribean crew.
-Al checks out the local scene from WA to Sandy Point before hitting the high notes with a stunning wave session in WA with Col Leonhardt.
-Jason Polakow and his team reports from Jaws and has emerged with jaw dropping imagery which we just can’t get enough of. Plus there’s a heap more wave riding action with Tim Clarke reporting from Tasmania.
-Ian checks out the formula racing scene in Australia and chats with AWA president Brett Morris. Our main race feature is on reigning champion Steve Allan.
Plus there’s a hell of a lot more in this edition.

??? This makes no sense, if you had no visitors or immigrants coming to Aus to windsurf you would probably be able to count the entire windsurfing population of Australia on 1 hand. The fact that Sarah Quita travelled up and down WA, entered the local comps etc is awesome - I don't see why this is a problem.
I came to Perth over 4 years ago and when I arrived almost no one was doing freestyle, now we have an active scene and you could even call some of the spots overcrowded!

Al you need to find a better postage provider, that is a stupid amount to pay to send a magazine overseas. You can ship a whole board from the UK for $100.
Hey Al,
Got to say thanks for your contribution in this latest edition, we are really grateful.
Our aim in this edition was to give freestyle windsurfing fantastic coverage. The idea was to inspire anyone who windsurfers to get into this area of it.
In regards to sending magazines overseas, we use regular post, hence why the price is high.
We sell a lot of copies on iTunes overseas: itunes.apple.com/us/app/windsurfer-magazine-australias/id883638581?mt=8
It is much more cost effective then sending mags via post and we can reach more countries
Good point, although people like to 'feel' it in their hands!

Daffy I find that really surprising to hear - nearly every feature based in Australia, or if not is written by Australian's overseas. That was the whole point of starting the magazine.
Just flicked through the latest download and it looks awesome! and stacks of (mostly) aus content!
cheers guys keep up the good work!
Great to acknowledge the support of WINDsurfer Mag Australia, getting behind both the promotion and coverage of the AUS National Championships.
Starting with forthcoming Green Island 2015 Slalom, Freerace and Freestyle Championships in the current edition, the following editions will also feature previews and promos for the upcoming Wave Nats (Flatrock NSW, Nov 2015) and the new year's FW DownUnderPro and Raceboard Nats event.
Big kudos to George for opening this opportunity and seeing a real win-win in every respect of involvement with - and promotion of - the leading edge/s of our sport at the National level. As well as looking for grass roots interest as well. There is passion powering this every bit as much as a dollar.
Sure, in this day and digital age, floating a startup mag might not seem the obvious trend, but with a quality publication and solid local content, there's also something be proud of (and part of) a premium portrayal of our sport Australia wide. Get involved.
Even better ? Further linking WINDsurfer Mag to our National association members, WINDsurfer Mag will also be offered at a discount subscription rate to every AWA member as an option within their State membership renewal for the coming season.
1 year from zero to (local) hero? Not bad.
Hey guys,
Just want to say thank you to all the advertisers, contributors and subscribers who have got behind our windsurfing magazine.
Also big shout out to Al McLeod our wave and Ian Fox our racing editors, who work their asses off to make each edition happen.
I love putting this magazine together for you.
Even though our readership is small with Aussie Windsurfer in comparison to Kite Mag which is 7 years old and Sup Mag which is 5 years old, I love the passion the community has and all the wonderful people I have met over the last 12 months.
Rest assured, if you thought that what we did with this issue was good, we believe we can do better and we will.
My aim is to not only produce the best windsurfing magazine in the world but also to have the best kiteboarding and stand up paddle boarding mags. We are on track and the feedback so far has been astounding with our new design across all mags.
I"M GONNA WRITE THIS PART IN CAPS BECAUSE I WANT IT TO STICK OUT LIKE DOGS BALLS.
"AT THE MOMENT OUR WIND, SUP AND KITE MAGS TOGETHER HAVE THE LARGEST RETAIL PRESENCE IN NEWSSTANDS THAN ANY OTHER SPORTS OR LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE IN AUSTRALIA."
WE ARE IN OVER 1000 RETAIL OUTLETS AROUND AUSTRALIA AND NOW HAVE THE GREATEST CHANCE EVER OF TURNING FISHERMEN, SURFERS, SAILORS AND WAKEBOARDER TO OUR SPORTS.
This will mean more readers, more people on the water and more people sharing the stoke.
As a parent, I believe growing the pie is the key to a happier and healthier society.
Next time you see someone new struggling to rig up, give them a hand. Next time your annoying brother in law or asshole uncle breaks your nuts to take them windsurfing, take them.
Thank you so much for giving me the change and opportunity to publish magazines for you, it is privilege and a pleasure.
I have had the mag a few days now and haven't had time to read it all, so much great content! Each edition keeps getting bigger and better and its got a great 'fresh' feel about it, not the same old predictable dribble that gets churned out in the OS mags.
The paper stock, print and layout style in this edition has moved it up another level of quality.
Love to see more destination stories especially local spots, and maybe some gear/tech bits also...(but short and sweet), great work guys keep it up, already looking forward to the next edition! ![]()
Just got my first copy at home yesterday and whilst I do love the look and feel of the mag it would be great if you could add something each month for us relative noobs.
I'm busily reading all I can to decipher what seems to me to be the "Dark Arts" of windsurfing.... that is Board, Sail and Fin Size combos and how they work together.
I have to go to Guy Cribs website and download 10+ years old articles to find any information. I'm sure things have come a long way in the meantime and it would be great to get some updated perspectives on all of this.
Thanks for the mag.
I think u better contact who ever said the mag is avaliable in newcastle nsw, cause its not at the newsagents that u said sell it, im at whitebride now & they dont sell it.
The un buyable windsurfing mag woo hoo.

You could also add "Australia's fastest growing magazine" if you wanted to be a mathematical smart-arse.
Anyone else receive two copies in the mail ?
Do the editors want it back if not who in Perth wants a magazine.

Yep I got 2 but I also have just renewed my subscription after receiving a reminder from isubscribe. This may have caused the mix up. I actually was wondering if the reminder was a mix up and Id renewed to early. I haven't got around to following it up :/

Do you have a doctor or dental appointment soon?
The waiting rooms of those particular places can certainly use an update of interesting magazines !!! ![]()
Picked up a copy from Windsurfnsnow yesterday, great read and sweet to see a wind mag back in OZ. Well done!!!
