Can I get in on the love fest?
Look, the fella is learning. He didn't ask if it is an OK setup for winning the Nationals.
I challenge anyone to feel the difference in that sail, rigged right, on a 460 with adjustable head, vs on a 430 with 10cm extension. When used as the O.P will, which is 0 -15kn on the river for the next 12mths..............
Roo loves grey pussies and is about to have a magic ride?
On second thoughts, I'm out.
Yes Mark, you are right (probably).
Hey droid84, if you are down the river, maybe Pelican Point this weekend (long weekend) we can rig that sail together. PM me if you like and we can post pictures of the successful voyage next week. You're not a hot chick are you? I'm not actually a cat.
Does anyone think the late 1990's 5m Tushingham with adjustable head, with 20cm sticking out the top (not much) will feel worse than the 1 batten beginner sail he just used on the course?
I suggest it would actually feel better once he is getting properly powered later on.
Yes one day he will need a shorter mast an newer sails but he is learning. Saying it is not ideal is true but how close does it need to be? May as well tell him to sand fins or adjust batten tension.
This could be summed up better, by someone who walks on water.
until then, what Mark said.
To expand some on what absolutely none of you have addressed,
we know the mast in question is a 460. Regards the mast that is all we freegggin know.
if it's a NP, Tush, or HotSails Maui, it's the correct curve, I would reckon that a 460 is a option mast for this sail by TUSH.
Colombia River Gorge, the sailing spots are spread out over about 60 mile, east is Roosevelt, 3Mile, the Wall, Dougs, Event Site, The Hatchery, Swell City, in between those are Viento and a **** load more.
the hot ticket is to sail where it's blowing. The best option is be prepared to travel. Several shops are in Hood River, when advise is needed go to Windance.

Or try Bigwinds as well. I shop at both all the time. Very good knowledgeable staff at both shops. I found if you want to talk more technical, Bigwinds seemed to have a little more knowledge and will spend more time with you, but they're both good.
Eddy at Bigwinds knows his stuff. He has loads of knowledge available to share with you. He was once the editor for Windsurf Magazine.
hey Magic - you one lucky dawg ![]()
