I don't need a new board... but... $599 for any of the available boards is pretty good

And I thought 1400 for a new model freestyle with foil was a steal. Man.

Bugger... at those prices I'd get a Levitator and Freestyle 115 V3. Only ships in the US and Canada.

There is nothing about any windfoil boards in the 2025 dealers' catalog....so for 2025 no, but in the future who knows?

Three weeks ago I was in Hood River and told Tony Logoz that there was a rumor online that slingshot was not selling/developing windfoil gear. He told that was not true. However, his website has no new windfoiling gear, right? So I'm not sure what's going to happen

Hopefully he's right. I'm speculating but maybe they're trying to get rid of all their inventory and figure out a new model lineup? Seems like the market is pretty saturated right now and they probably have time to re-tool.

Tony is a windfoiler and continues to build custom windfoil boards.

^^^ Yes but to me it seems the whole world is asking if Slingshot are no longer going to be making windfoil boards (production) and there seems to be a big implied no - but not any official announcement?
Australian distributor has stuff on sale but doesn't say no more boards coming, and slingshotsports.com/pages/windsurf-foil looks just as current as ever.

All this chatter - maybe they could just tell us? Officially

Hopefully, these large discounts are part of a marketing strategy to increase the presence of Slingshot boards at windfoiling spots, attracting more enthusiasts to the brand. I experienced this firsthand while sailing in different spots in France and Spain. Many times, as soon as I got out of the water with my Slingshot freestyle board, other windfoilers approached me to take a look at the board.

I can say for a fact that they canned the sales rep. Wyatt Miller here in the U.S.

They have lost plenty of talent...Wyatt left slingshot over a year ago. Brandon also left slingshot right before his injury last fall.

Recently saw a employment offer for the position of Australian sales manager. There was no mention of windfoil in job description every other foiling discipline and kiting though.

Reading between the posts here, think some of you are grasping at straws to be honest.

During covid sales went through the roof for watersports, pretty much all companies then over stocked and then was left with surplus amounts of foil gear (wind, wing, kite etc). Cabrina was first to react with 3 wings for less than a grand, so wind sporters wanting to try winging hit the motherload when you could get a board, foil and wings for the same price (then) as a wind foil board.

If wind foiling boards are not selling like they used to then there is no miracle money pot left...it's not just wind foiling, its windsurfing as well (although Europe seems to be levelling out).

Look at Ricardo Campello vice world champion and no sponsor until Pozo, when he got enough money through outside sponsorships.
The top pro windsurfers/foilers are on one-year contracts and working part time jobs.

Robby naish sold his brand to a Euro distributor, even some wing foiling brands are going under (Takuma recently).

Tony and Co have been riding customs and 125cm masts for years, but I don't think that has anything to do with R&D for production boards,...the only thing I think left is the rinse and repeat cycle, maybe wind foiling will get an injection again from board companies but not until the sting of "after" covid is financially rectified.

One last thing, its election year in the U.S. it's a complete sh!t show from a politics point of view, interest rates are all time high (credit cards, home loans etc) and I know from the industry I work in, that people are not spending money right now and that has a knock-on effect.

Agree with most of your points on the wind sports industry,I think the industry is over saturated with to much gear I do agree with what some manufacturers in windsurfing have done by going to a two year cycle for new products ,eventually this will all play out and a lot of the initial hype in winging and other foil disciplines will level off.

So official statement from Slingshot - Windfoiling has been cancelled but shhhhhh

Shame as I've had 2 customers this week come in raving about how the Olympic windsurfing was so awesome and they were completely ignorant of it before (one a surfer, one a winger).

Willywind has at least been the only one close to the source (in this thread) so I do hope he is correct and they don't drop windfoil.

Hopefully the R&D does come back, never say never and all that. simple business economics at this current time, customers vote with their wallet.

Where are the Slingshot "Team Riders" who so often contribute so much advertising to this forum?

Surely they (he) can tell us of his current sponsorship status?

Azymuth, care to share?

I am not a pro rider but a slingshot ambassador, and shared the best of my knowledge.

No one is saying windfoiling is cancelled that I know of.

I hope Slingshot is not done, just cleaning out to start fresh. Had a Wizard 105, 114 and just took advantage of the sale and got a Freestyle 115. Gotta say it sucks if they get out of windfoiling but the price drop on the boards was welcome.

I am no expert but makes sense to sell through existing stock esp with the low demand of windfoiling. Their current line up could hardly be improved so it wouldn't make sense to bring out new windfoil designs. Maybe the lack of 2024 models was taken as an indication they were dropping windfoil, although it wouldn't surprise me if they did. At least duotone and JP have team riders who will jump on freefoil/foilstyle gear every now and then.

Can't find any wizards at the advertized price from any dealers. Range seems to be $829 to $1800.
I'd snag a 90L at that price for those big wind days..

The fact that they still have all versions and sizes of the freestyle board a week after they undercut their dealers by offering all boards for $600 +$50 shipping says a lot about how bad the current market conditions are.

Yeah it seems like everyone that would buy that gear has bought it. I wondered that when they had the cheap board + foil deal.

Meanwhile I know locals that just got sponsored and jobs for winging out on the west US coast. That seems to be the vast majority of the unsaturated market now.

I live in Spain and windfoling was never very popular I dont know the reason, selling any windfoiling equipment is very dificult, wingfoiling is very popular since 3 or 4 years ago.

Not the case in Switzerland, where windfoiling is very popular because wind is not strong enough for traditional fin windsurfing.
In spain (I have the experience from Tarifa having lived there), the wind is typically stronger so windfoiling is less popular.
