100% agree with "Winging is great, but don't make the windfoil bad".
- Winging is the best for swell surfing, and have a good potential for tricks. Easy to rig and transport. Pure surf foil. But if the wind comes down you must to return to the beach swimming. Not the best for very light wind.
- Windfoil slalom is pure adrenaline, and in this moment has a performance that could be faster than windsurf slalom. The top speed and the gybes is like a race motorcycle. Difficult to rig and transport.
- Freefoil. Actually with the compact boards, the board is very reactive, and let you play a lot with low wind. It's similar of windsurfing but with a flow feeling. It have potential of tricks (Baltz Muller). Very efficient in low wind, with 5 meters is enough for big sail. Easy to rig and transport, but not as wing, obviously. The interference of the sail fixed on the board limits the surf experience, but is possible and fun.
My reference is Baltz Muller, is making at the same time winging and freefoil.
Saludos!

By far the biggest problem with winfsurf foiling is launch and recovery in a shore break. Actually it's a pain even without a shore break.
I windfoil in light wind and wing in medium to high wind. I started both sports in my Wizard 125L, but couldn't resist the allure of something smaller for winging, after all I am winging in high winds. If I lived somewhere with regular decent wind I would likely just wing as it's a hassle transporting both. Who knows maybe the CWC wings will make this happen for me.
