Does the 75cm apply to the Levitator as well? I assume that dimension is from the leading edge of the foil mast to the center of the pin (I'm using euro pin base)? I that the correct?
FYI
for the levitator150 /i99 in C I use a universal to foil mast distance of 90 cm (which is actually near the closest you can get them on the levitator)
for the shredsled/i99 in C I use 65 cm (a little shocking to me, but i measured twice)
for the wizard 114/i99 in C I use 79 cm
This all makes sense to me as the front footstrap is proportionally position further from the mast track Shredsled < w114 < Levi 150
How do you keep the nose down on the Shred Sled with the i99 in C position? Do you stand with both feet by the mast base?
I'm picking up a KT surfing, Quatro wing drifter pro tomorrow. I ordered the 6'x30". Hoping to compare foil mast track placement side by side with the Shred Sled. I feel like in pictures, the foil tracks are quite far forward on the shred sled, making it feel like it's less than 7 feet long. Am I the only one that thinks that?
Haha. My front foot is ~12 inches from the mast base, and the backfoot is ~36 inches from the mast base. I have very little problem holding the front wing down, if anything I would like the front foot to be a little further back but I the front straps are as far back as they can go. Remember that the i99 generally is slower and therefore has the lift further back. For the 76 in B on the levitator I add ~6cm to that universal to foil mast position.
The whole point of getting your straps close to the mast base and shortening up the sail to foil mast distance is that it increases the leverage that your body weight has over the foil. However, I do ride with a heavy front foot, often if I am reaching I have 90% of my weight on my front foot. But I don't sail across the wind much, unless I am in a lull. I tend to sail upwind then look for swells to ride downwind on.
When on the foil, the shredsled definitely feels much smaller than 7ft/143L, but it's nice to have that volume for schlogging. I imagine it is similar on the wing.
It will work fine with a wing, not the best to have board that long for winging but with my JP Sup Foil 7'0 I can wing it and it works fine. What I like with foil track that fwd is you can pump the board and it doesn't required as much boat speed as a foil on the tail to take off and it's way more livelier....so it's good but it's also probably more technical to jibe maybe?

Thanks for explaining that. It makes more sense to me now. ![]()
I picked up a Shted Sled from the shop today. Hoping to try it along with my 6 foot Quatro tomorrow. Supposed to be WINDY here. We're under a gale warning for the next 48 hours along the eastern shores of Lake Michigan. It looks like the foil track on the Shred Sled is mounted about 3 inches further forward than the Quatro so that may give the feeling of having a shorter board for wing foiling. I am REALLY hoping that the Slingshot Shred Sled is comfortable for wind foiling as well as wing foiling... I desperately want one board for winging and wind foiling.

Having the tracks further forward will make the board feel shorter, my 7.6 outwit works so well because the foil is so much further forward, I know its not "fashionable" to have anything over 5ft for winging but its interesting to watch people struggle as I wing past and gybe around them.
Longer rocker lines make the board foil up quicker in really light winds as well.

"Fashionable" is the key word.
The best local winger started out on a 6ft10 board with 115 l. She progressed very quickly. When she switched to a 5ft4 board after 30-40 sessions, the thing she liked most about it was the handle on the bottom, which makes getting in and out much easier. She says pumping is a bit better on the small board, and that it may turn a bit better. Getting on is a tad harder for the first few sessions, but otherwise, the difference is surprisingly small. That said, the board is around 80 l and probably has about 20 l excess volume for her, so it' not really small.

Core, how does the Shred Sled compare lot lightwind winging to the new Wizard (130L I believe) that you have posted video on? Are you flying in lightwind earlier on the Sled?

I'm not into "fashion", nor am I concerned with going as small as I possibly can. My KT surfing Quatro wing drifter pro in 6'x30" and 130L is really nice so far. It seems to be much easier to get on than the Ride Engine Moon Buddy 6' with 120L. The main thing I am enjoying beyond winging on it is that it fits easily under the topper on my pickup truck.
I am taking a Shred Sled out tomorrow to see how that compares, as well as to compare foil mast track locations between the two boards. I would REALLY like one board to wind foil and wing foil. Then I could carry one mast, one boom and cover my 7.0, 6.0 and 4.8 meter sails, as well as my 6.4 and 4.4 Slingwing V2's. When the wind comes up where I and powered up on my 4.8, I would probably put the sail and mast away and grab the 6.4 Slingwing V2 and keep going.
I'm sure it's a pipe dream but one can hope!

I haven't got the shred sled yet, I use the outwit 7.6 for light wind winging and the 6.2 wizard for stronger winds. Slingshot will have dedicated winging boards coming out by end of year, the biggest board will be 6' x 29".
if I lived closer to the ocean where I could Wind wave foil and wing ding on one board the shred sled would already be in my quiver, looks a great allrounder

That sounds ideal to me. Couple sails, couple wings and the shred sled, awesome
Ah I was mistaken Core, how does the Wizard compare to the Outwit for winging? Is it slower to get going in lightwind with the aft foil tracks? Thanks!
Just came in off a shredsled windfoil session today. It certainly rides a lot smaller that 143L, but it shlogs great and uphauls super easy.
Let us know how you get on

Yes I need bit more wind for the wizard.
The wizard is heavier because of the construction needed for wind foiling the outwit was originally designed for SUP foiling so everything is moved much further forward so it lifts quicker and the board is around 6lbs lighter
The Wizard has much flatter underhull so is sticky when pumping unless you're really powered.
.

Thanks so much Core. I ask because I am thinking of going with a 110L dedicated wingfoil board for winging, but I still want to use it in lightwind and hope that the foil mast being further forward will make up for the shorter length and volume compared to the 125L Wizard in allowing me to get up flying early.

Hm, when i get overpowered with my 6.3 Fringe windfoiling i can comfortably switch to my 4.4 Slingwing, being about 15 knots i guess.
Switching from a 4.8 sail to 6.4 Wing seems a bit controversial to me. 4.8 windfoil is overpowering at about 22 knots? You don't need a 6.4 wing with this much wind.

Wasn't able to go out on the Shred Sled yesterday. Gale force winds made it too sketchy. Hopefully this coming weekend will be better.

I may well be able to use a 4.4, but the 6.4 was very comfortable and controllable for me. I'm not a small or weak person. I figured the 4.4 was going to suit me if it was blowing steady above 24/25mph up to 40.

Yes the dedicated wing foil board with twin tracks will get you foiling up significantly quicker that the W125.
pushing the foil all the way forward in the twin tracks you'll won't believe how much easier it is over the Tuttle box.
I wonder if they will change anything on the Shred Sled for next year?
6" shorter and keep the volume at 143 would be great! ![]()

Yeah. But probably minimally so. I'd be ok with it.
Should also have footstrap inserts for strapped wind foiling if the rider prefers it.

Keep us posted on the Shred Sled. Need to find a solution by the summer. Ideal 5.5", 130-145 liter and foot straps. I would like a hard board, just like the Gong Hipe 5.5, but from Slingshot. Cut the length and add volume.

Unfortunately the wind has not cooperated for me to get on the Shred Sled yet.
I really want this to be a do-all board for wind foiling and wing foiling. My biggest concern is how big of a sail it will handle. I am looking at ordering a Sailworks Flyer 8.2 this winter. Wondering how the Shred Sled will do in
8-12mph with that sail.
I'm nervous that I won't like it as well as my Levitator 160 for wind from 8-25mph. Above 20 and I'll probably go winging.

What wing are you planning on using? I rode the shredsled today with infinity 76 and 6m flyer. Which was fine and I can't see why you couldn't go bigger. But at some point if you have a big wing more sail isn't gonna help much.
There is a fair bit of overlap between the levi and the sled, they just handle that wind range differently. I guess it will come down to which style of riding you prefer.

I currently only have the i84, i99 and an old Gamma 68 that I've never used. Mainly my "style" of riding is back and forth and I don't get in waves too often. Not because I don't want to, but because it just hasn't happened more than a few times for me. I like to go hard upwind and then just carve and turn long arcs on my way back down wind.
Right now my sail range is 3.8 Sailworks Revolution, 4.8 Duotone Super session, 6.0 and 7.0 Flyer, an 8.0 Ezzy Cheetah and a Duotone S-pace 9.3 that I've never used (thinking of selling iit).
Ideally I was looking for a one board quiver. But I am feeling more like I will keep my Levitator for wind foiling and have my 6'x30" 130L Quatro for winging.

I can't imagine using more than 7m with those big wings. The 5.7 lift and i99 works pretty good most of the time until it picks up, I can generally make that work in 10-15mph. I haven't ridden the flyer and the i99 much. If you wanted to do small foil and big sail then the levi may be better cause you are out on the rail more, but for larger wings and centered stance the sled is pretty good. The sled is much more maneuverable than the levi, which has pros and cons.
Would be very easy to add outboard straps on the Sled.
I wouldn't discount the G68 wing either. It's not the latest but it's a pretty decent wing for higher wind.
Kinda feel like the Shred Sled and I are not meant to be. Wind gusts to over 50MPH today. Went to the lake and looked, but it was just too gnarly. Gonna return it to the shop and see what happens this spring.
