Reviving the old thread to give a one year (ish) update!

First of all, thank you to everyone who has commented; there's tons of useful info on this thread which will hopefully help others make a decision.

Back in March I managed to get a F2012 North Warp 8.6m with a matching platinum mast. I also purchased a used NP X7 225-275 carbon boom. At the time there weren't any bargains in the way of foils so this made more sense.

To be perfectly honest, I think I've used the rig about 8 times since then and am still not perfectly dialed in. Rigging was a bit of a pain the first few times.
I don't really enjoy the lightwind sessions during the winter as much (because of the cold) as I do blasting around in boardshorts during the summer (which we are still waiting for in Melbourne...). Spending 30mins rigging in the cold and rain for marginal conditions isn't much fun.

I have also begun wavesailing and am trying to learn some freestyle. I now feel that freeriding (I include my lightwind slalom set up here) is a bit boring and not really challenging enough. In addition, using my big kit doesn't help me improve my windsurfing. I have probably used that F2 SX 125 as many times with a 4.7 in 12 knots to try to learn tricks as I have with the 8.6.

Therefore, I've just bought a 2019 NP RS Flight - it was a steal so I couldn't refuse. I still need to have my F2 SX converted to deep tuttle which is an added cost/hassle.

As I write this I just noticed a Naish hover 122 + Thrust foil has been added to the classifieds in Melbourne...

Once everything is done and dusted, I'll give a breakdown of all the costs incurred for those who are interested.

Check out the NP ali fuse extension/adaptors thread by Adam555. They are worth a look if you have the earlier NP foils
