Excellent! Just yesterday a former windfoil now wing friend told me how windfoil was in the rear view mirror.

Looking forward to this

Had a great chat with Balz at the Defi. He is still a great believer in windfoil. Apparently his second favorate disapline, first being windsurf. What impressed me he most was his genuine interest of what I rode and why. A great ambassador for our sport

He's an inspiration, I'm looking forward to listening to this. I think lots see windfoil as just the racing roots and assume it's all wide boards, cams and low winds but the freestyle stuff is pretty much all I'm into, love it, more wind the better.

Good little community where I am of the various foil disciplines but the freestyle kit seems closer to winging - we all get along tho ;)

Flight Club, what an excellent idea! Missed the first one, the sign up for June 25th is still active. Put my info in, trust more Google Meet sessions to follow.

Anyone know what kit are Greg Glazer and Emily Ridgeway are riding these days? I'm a Freeride foiler in the Slingshot Phantasm ecosystem (103 carbon mast, PTM 926 front wing). My fingers crossed that the other manufacturers haven't similarly concluded that Freeride foiling is an evolutionary dead end.

Greg Glazier is riding Tony Logosz custom boards. Not sure about foils, Have been told that Tony is developing his own foils after his split from Slingshot.

The good thing about Severne is they to no winging/kiting stuff
So there is a chance they keep on dealing with windfoil

Wonder what Slingshot did with the tooling? Love my carbon 103 wide mast. Would be a sad day if it went to the bottom.

He also says Severne is working on being able to adjust the foil mast. "Something in the direction as well." Probably double tracks but not explicitly stated.

Hey Matt?
Have you sent Balz a set of your releasing straps? He could help spread the word. The subject came up at 1:31, sounds like he is not aware of your product.
His comments and those from Dominik have me considering front straps again to help light air take off and to get upwind better. Cause you gotta get up to get down.

Hey utcminusfour, thanks for the heads up. Seems like 75% of my sales have been overseas.

Something else Balz said in that video was that he always shims his mast for more nose up. Anyone else tried that? I've been thinking about it, even printed a couple of shims (0.5 &1.0) but keep forgetting to try.

Slalom racers aim for 3+ degrees (3.5 ish, iirc, from Phantom) to reduce the effects of touchdown. Most freeride foils have less than that dialed in from the factory.

Have tried it. Did help slightly with what Balz was saying but low wind take off was harder which negated the advantages. The was on my old FoilX @190cm long. Maybe I should give it another go now I am on more compact boards....

How much shim did you use? I don't think I would want to try unless the winds were in the 20s and flying was a non-issue.

Used 3 degrees. Was under the Sab Kraken base, too lazy to change it in and out....

Can you send me a thread where to get them (living in Belgium). I had a nasty crash last week where my front foot stayed in the strap and 76 cm wdie board tried to keel over. was fortunate the no serious injury occured but reminded me how thing can go wrong (did not think they would by now but a stupidity and moment of inatention were enough.)
