Tapered masts make a lot of structural sense.

Pity they can't taper the economy model aluminium extrusions.

There are aluminium mast coming still wider in the cord but lighter then the original Hover glide masts.
Or you can just order the "lower package" wing, fuse, stab. Order the adaptor and use the old style hover glide mast.

JJ when you get a minute, can you weigh the hover glide with the i76 wing and then weigh the phantasm, I would love to see real world weights....cheers mate

Is that 730 wing the replacement of the infinity 76? The new one looks much more lower aspect ratio than the 76. Am I right?

From the photos I'd say they look very similar but with better construction. The extra stiffness should go a long way.

I think I better start saving up some money...

The PFI 730 is a refined version of the Infinity 76. It's the Phantasm version the Infinity 76 is still alive and well in the HG range

What size and metal type are the bolts holding the wing and mast on?. Are they still using titanium? Any first flights today in the light northerlies...?

Simon and my thoughts after 4 sessions on the new Phantasm foil - light and strong wind sessions on both river and ocean.
You guessed it - we're super-stoked

Comparing the Phantasm with the HG Infinity 76;

Pros;
Slightly more refined front wing shape, streamlined fuselage and slick mast profile means noticeably smoother flight and less drag.
Early lift is equivalent to the i76 (with good pumping technique) although surface area is smaller by 100cm2.
Top speed is closer to the Infinity 65 and it holds speed effortlessly.
Light weight (5.3kgs) is very apparent when carrying it around.
Foil mast, wing/fuse and mast/fuse connection stiffness feels super-solid underfoot, resulting in a more direct to foil feeling.
103cm mast - 13cm greater ride height negates breaching, makes for a more relaxing ride in ocean swells. Awesome flying high over the wave tops. Definitely feel you can push it more if that's your thing.
Simple, quick assembly with one size M6 Torx bolts.
Beautiful construction and finish, the carbon mast looks magic. Is it the stiffest?
Heaps of different size and performance front wings are available.
Simons reckons 360s are a doddle.

Cons;
$$$
Beach starts are difficult - by the time you get deep enough you're pretty much water starting.
Rear wing bottom mounted means more care is required around rocks and reefs.

Who's it for?
Anyone that likes chasing ultimate performance, or with heaps of sessions on the i76.
Early adopters
Carbon addicts
Medical specialists

The chord and base plate differ on the 102 Phantasm from the 103w.
This is the short fuse it's only 653 coupled with the PTM 730 wing.

There is also a 710 fuse and plenty of wings to choose from.
So the Phantasm is truly an adaptable setup.
Talk to your Slingshot dealers to get the latest specs.

what does that setup weigh? Also, is that kind of a big stabilizer for that wing?

I'll weight it, but I know it's not the lightest, the Phantasm is both stiff and strong, hard to be light too.
That's the standard stab surface area is 281 cm there is a smaller one available but it's not in Aus yet the 325 @ 212 cm

This set up is 6.4kg the board is 11 L and 1m long. I was surprised how much lift that wing has.

Yeah I can, but I'm not sure why you all want to know the exact, the Phantasm was not built to be the lightest foil system out there.
If you want light then look elsewhere, the Phantasm is a stiff, strong and a multi functional platform that allows for all wind and water sports.
I'll weight it seperatley next time I take it off the board.

I do know the 103W Phantasm is 4.4kg so I'm assuming the 102 will be lighter.

I think some folks are confusing the 102 kiting and 103 windsurf not the same animal.

Yes for sure the 102 can be used for all applications, but the 103W is the go for wind foiling.

Quick update after riding the new Phantasm with standard 73 wing in fairly brutal 30 knot gusts with a 3.7m Simmer Blacktip.
The longer, stiffer foil mast, slipperier wings and fuselage noticeably aids smoothness and control - you can carve the foil hard in the big gusts in a way that would be next to impossible with the HG / i76.

So low-end equivalent to the i76 and speed/control in high winds squarely in-between the i76 and i65.
Max stoked

Hey guys,
Comparing to I-76 wing position in relation to the mast, is the wing closer to position b or c on a phantasm?
