I used to windfoil with North Idol LTD freestyle sails, but I switched to the S2Maui Dragon wavesail a few years ago. When I did I also tested the S2Maui Jester freestyle sail back to back.
The main reasons I went for the wavesail is because its more stable and faster. The freestyle sail is earlier to fly, but I have plenty good technique to get the wave sail up and going aswell. In the air, the wave sail is much faster because of the flatter profile and little bit more loose leech. Also has a way wider windrange (especially top end).
If you want to be the earliest to fly with the smallest sail possible, get a wavesail. If you're a good pumper and want a little more performance from your kit, definately go wavesail. Also pick wavesail if you're riding in very gusty conditions.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up. I thought wave sails had a little less power per size than freestyle sails.

What brand of freestyle sails rig well on ezzy masts?
I can't speak for any other brands than Goya, Ezzy, and Severne
But the 5.6 and 6.3 Freeks rig well on an ezzy curve GT brand mast (cheaper mast I got as part of a beginner ezzy legacy setup)
The 4.4 Freek I have a severne red. I'm not sure if it matters more or less or at all on smaller sails.

I am curious as to how you rigged the wave sails. I rig mine for foiling with the minimum (or less) out haul and down haul to allow me to use the smallest size possible. I also rig the freesylte sail at or near the minimum out haul. So I am not sure there is much difference in the draft of the two sails when I look at pictures and the distance from the sail to the boom. But that probably due to the way I rig them.
I also find the twisting leach of the wave sail gives you better top end wind range but after experimenting i find the wind range of the freestyle sail is improved by adjusting just the out haul. While the wave sail likes to have both more down haul and out haul.
I do find the freestyle sail does have more power than the wave sail in the down the line, down wind heel side carves which is what I was looking for. I also like the instant on off of the freestyle sail for carving the more i use them.
I can't speak to the speed of a freestyle sail vs a wave sail as I have not worn a GPS but it feels to me that the higher aspect and bigger foot of the freestyle sail picks up apparent wind better than the wave sail and seems just as fast. But I am not hiked out, powered to the max on a small foil to take advantage of the leech twisting off on a wave sail.
