I went and had a look around yesterday. Strangely enough it seemed smaller than the day before, although the swell was bigger. I guess Sunday had crazy winds causing waves to break way outside. Anyway, I saw some 3'ers at Sandtracks, which is highly unusual. Conditions sucked though, too much W in the wind. Plus it was freezing cold so I chickened out, not that desperate. Quite a few people out though, carpark half full. My local had a half dozen crew out. There were a few 4'ers while I watched, also unusual. Breaking out far but not like Sunday. Just too messy and I would've only squeezed in an hour so I flagged it.

Today's offshore, but still very messy. If it cleans up it might reveal how the sand's looking. Tomorrow I'll be out there, maybe Thursday as well.

arto's showing an occasional bit of form, but pretty slow in between

got there at 7am no one out all looking and leaving

half a dozen out at the mo, oily glass very unsettled and murky ocean

would have expected more, 1.3m cott swell used to give good size
but i think its been recalibrated to exaggerate what little swell there is

also quite high tides

I recon the weed on the outta reefs is growing and maybe stopping swell getting through, thats a theory anyway.

I was thinking of a paddle in the morning
However i think a lie in might be more productive,

Got a few nice ones up the North end of town this arvo, peaks were a bit all over the place but wind dropped to nothing and it had a bit of size for a change.

Ah, I had Secret Men's Business to attend to, and despite thinking I'd have time I only got home at 4:30pm so by the time I got to the beach it would've been a short session. Damn. My SMB took hours when it should've been an hour.

I did drive past the Cottesloe area. I reckon someone was onto something when they said they've recalibrated the buoy. It was certainly smaller than it should be with almost 1m swell.

I will try tomorrow arvo, but it's not too promising.

Come on, I want to hear more about the banks at Scarb-Trigg stretch. Finally something there? I might have a look on the weekend, but weekend's are busy for me up until October.

I've heard awesome reports about trigg/scab's banks. Seems its all finaly happening there now. Mate of mine went to surf it this morning for an hour, 4 hours later he got out to go to work
Good, people might just leave the outer suburbs' beaches alone now!!&
I might be able to catch a wave without anyone else on it again for a while

Yea, at the time I was thinking that I might have to have the op but the phisio seems to think thats just the nerve. Im glad that its the only problem, I wasnt looking forward to an op. I had a op on my back 3 years ago and only now has it come good with no pain so I wasnt happy with the thought at all.
Even just after one sesson with him I feel better already, he is the real deal as far as physios go. Not cheap tho.....

Well I went to K-land today. I had some major, major kook incidents and just couldn't surf today. I got a few nice turns though. Swell dropping fast, wind good. At times only 3 in the water, which was nice. Probably 10 at the most. Lots of weed in close and bits and pieces drifting around. The rip out the channel in the middle made it a bit messy at takeoff occasionally. No surf tomorrow or probably Saturday either. Actually, maybe Saturday at my local, Sunday too.

Perth's favourite beachbreak today. I left it until the afternoon, doing a few jobs in the morning. I watched for about 45min, just not wanting to go out since the Devil Wind was in. In the end it was a toss of a coin decision, and I thought since I can't go out tomorrow I might as well. The thing that put me off was an almost total lack of banks, swell too big for the non-banks, and the only spot with a nice wedgey peak had a super-strong rip and the guys out there were struggling not to get swept out to sea and not really getting any. I know what it's like when it's like that out there, and the only reason for the wedge was the strong rip. Anyway, it was about 2', with an occasional 3' set. It was actually super fun, and I had a great time so I'm glad I went out. It's been a fair while since I was there, and it reminded me why it can be so fun. Made me realise how much I've taken reefs for granted, where you've got time to make sure your feet are in position, and the waves don't instantly close out.

So no surf for me tomorrow. Monday for sure. Rest of the week looking OK conditions but too small. I might get desperate enough to go anyway later in the week.

Just finished a nightshift and drove home along the coast, there is nice clean lines with a bit of size everywhere, I will be giving it a miss coz I need a sleep but you'd be mad if you didn't get amongst it.

Just finished 2hrs at a less popular northern beachie... inconsistent, but very clean 3ft set waves - L & R off the south car park. Rip and weed was in today . Still got a few I was very happy with.

Yesterday was 3-4ft and occassional 5ft clean-up wave. Overall if you waited, it had much better shape and power... but lots of paddling [back out and to the horizon for the clean-up sets] No weed and no rip yesterday!!

Opportunity presented a window for me today too. So I spent 2hrs at my local. It kind of sucked. Waves were good, but I only got about half a dozen due to the 45min period. Tide was too high and banks not happening. I also completely blew one takeoff, not a good thing with waves rare as hens' teeth. And despite the swell graph indicating it stayed the same, it felt like it went heaps smaller not long after I got there. Still, a couple of 2'ers and maybe one or two 3'er. Heading to K-land tomorrow probably.
