Yeah yesterday arvo I snared a few good ones and there was a bit of juice, few good sections and whilst a bit breezy not too much drift...
this morning I thought it would be far far bigger and it wasn't and it was crowded and I was negative......

So I slept in till 730 and when I looked at the camera it was sort of glassy but the ocean was covered in ants hundreds of them.........

My three questions
1) was there a comp on?
2) are we back to kook season
3) it wasn't that good metro ,,, why the panic?

maybe I'm out of line here but please tell me otherwise

That's me, 39th in from the left paddling out.
Did OK.
Respected myself.

It was nice to wash the heat of the day off with a couple of waves this arvy. The coldies are tasty too! Hands up if you're feeling it.

Well it was far from special, but after being out of the water for seven months following a shoulder recon I was happy to be out there... even happier that I managed a few given the shapeless dumpers rolling through at North Scarbs...

My enthusiasm for shapeless dumpers did not last long! I could not get into it today... waves with a shoulder were very few and far between and the crowd factor was x3 of yesterday - so you'd turn to paddle and someone is paddling out right through your take-off zone - and this is at 7:00am. I guess that's just Perth metro in Summer! On a positive note the stingers were gone today and my shoulder was fine

Good to hear someone's getting waves
I have not surfed anything over knee height for three weeks, work , commitments, and than the days I have had off just don't align
Down south will be an absolute zoo for the next three weeks

I don't experience the Christmas spirit others do, checked trigg cam at 5 am this morning at least 20-30 out
I really want to be positive
I should of committed to the drive out of town but didnt

Crowd factor is worse than ever - and the evolution and increasing popularity of soft boards is not helping... Once upon a time they were only the surf schools - now they are everywhere.

I remember...back in the day...96 and 97 summers were double thumbs up.

There used to be this wave called Trigg Point and there were banks every hundred metres heading south for several kms. Secret place called Brighton Rd would throw up the odd thing too.

...sigh... it used to be uncrowded-ish mid-week.

We just need the global weather change to cause a shift in the sand movement and we might end up with something very foreign in Perth
A decent bank

lol I lived just off the corner of ventnor st & hastings scabs 1988-1990. Pretty much walked along the beach to the point through summer looking for a wave & always ended up at the point

A big thank you must go out to Huey for one of the best Christmas day swells in recent memory. Offshore in the morning and there was even a LAGO. No pics sorry but totally stoked. Awesome!
