Early offshore with a big lumpy swell. One shortboard and a few boogers spread out at Trigg for the early, solid paddle out but some nice walls if you were in the right spot which was a lottery. No one out at Metts but a building crew at Smots with some nice lumps coming through and the usual drop in shenanigans going on.

C'mon ya mongrels! Who got some? I know my solo effort early on turned into a minefield of flotsam within an hour.
The waves... were ..... cranking!!! Unfortunately the backwash invariably had the last laugh.
Snapages aplenty.

Went south due to wind

paddled our at secret harbour though gee it's uncrowded and pretty sizey.
That was before the first set of close outs, it reminded me a bit of massive boodj but without the makeable ones . I made what I would call two waves
one was a sandy barrel and than out the doggy door the other a shoulder hop and couple of shakey turns.
didnt make at least another 4,5 was a bit ashamed until I seen the warm dry pussies on the hill.....

stayed suited up up and went a little further to a novelty wave I've only had twice in my life ................... faaaarkin magic me n a mate no one around us ....

heard the points were were the most crowded they have ever been ,,,,,,

did anyone go north???????

There was a fella down there shooting some pics (photo scout, ) had a brief chat with him when getting out to see if he had captured photographic evidence of me channeling Gerry Lopez's chi, seemed like a professional sorta fella and checked out his page on the book, todays pics aren't up yet but he has a pretty impressive portfolio..
there were a couple of the local shredders out so no doubt there will be some good ones,
Ill check in tomorrow

Firstly the below picture was taken by photo scout.
The guy is a gentleman and runs a solo business. Does good prints etc check him out on the book.

this is from the day trigg was phenomenal.
Again all photo credits go to photo scout.

As I described early last week I caught for me personally my wave of the winter.
last year after the Ross river the mosquito had me on the ropes for a good six months. Me and Ross battled it out pretty hard until I left my job in feb to hang out and raise the kids and allow my wife to go back to full time work.
my time off is rapidly coming to an end as the last several months of surfing has shaken the Ross river and I feel the best I have in 12 months.
This correlated with some good banks and clean swell and while I have had flashes of good waves or the odd good section very very rarely do all the planets align.

the first three pics were taken by Deborah coulthard, the last was taken by photo scout.

It appeared that no escape was possible and surprising to all I made it.
Prior to this I had no photos at the local and none on the mal.

I know plenty on here have had better and far better overseas, however for me and for this year this is the one that stands out

Hey I focus yeah I don't drink anymore the day after is pretty much like being hit with a bus.
Its been strange waking up every weekend feeling fresh and I've realised how expensive it really is to have 3/4 pints at the pub through the week..
So yeah ,It's nice nowadays I ride a mal and don't drink ,,,, gee I sound like a blast hahahaha

Heya mick, I used to be coooool man.
but seriously I am actually ordering the rusty panda as soon as I can.
have not bought a rusty for many many years but I think this is the one I'll take a punt on.

Does anyone know if they will put more glass on if you ask????
if it's all 6 ounce I don't know how long it'll last???

No worries mate, you'll probably always be the coolest bloke on the breez. Just saying, coz I know how easy it is to slack off on the LB when you get one from personal experience. I rode mine too much in conditions I could have taken out a shorty for a couple of years up until 18 months ago. Seems like heaps more young blokes are doing the same lately for the wave count...but the best thing about LB's is how good a shortboard feels when you get back on them for the manoeuvrability, travel packing & duckdiving.

Dunno about the panda, but appears to have a very nice outline & very well hidden volume

Aaagh the often discussed rarely performed rusty trombone

Lbb yesterday on the shortie waist maybe chest sets couple absolute gems but it was a real lottery.

Sets every 10-15 minutes

Cooooooold and a lot of crew after 10 am all banks occupied.

North Mullaloo was chill - literally! Effing wind was COLD.

Few fattish shoulder high rights to be had on the mal - with the occasional left. A mellow spread out crew... Was good fun until the wind picked up and pretty much ruined the peak.

Completely different to yesterday which I found to be a real struggle with the drift, rips and sneaker sets... I got out and found a small novelty wave to myself - bagged half a dozen wedgy rights before a swarm of kiddies realised it was working; so I got out and left them to it.
