Hull entry instead of concave in the nose?
Whats the deal with a hull Smicko?
I find my boards with concave in the nose paddle better than those with a hull (convex) nose. Just seem to not push as much water.
Smiths reef threw out a few unexpected gems yesterday arvo. The swell dropped a bit overnight and I surfed a beachie south of Margaret river today head height sets and half a dozen barrels (completely make able ) and fun
No surf yesterday and I know this isn't a fishing forum but I scored a day out on me mates boat and bagged out on the sand whiting all good size specimens with a couple mixed other fish caught and released, the amount of juvenile pinkies around was amazing however this all happened at least 6-8 nautical miles out
inshore the water is still filthy from all the run off in the swan. I didn't think it would be that bad but it was filthy and we were all the way up near Scarborough trigg and a few miles out. You can't really see it from the beach and the water is clean near shore. There was no fish in the dirty water at all yet a mile or two away there was plenty, it's like the filth from the river is sucking the oxygen or polluting the water that much all the fish bail. A true dead zone, the spots we tried within the filth which produced good fish in prior days out produced 0.
what have we done to the swan????
Went out yesterday just expecting to get wet and sun burnt. Ended up having some real fun, except for my last wave stepping off in 6" of water and my heel taking the full brunt of my 100kilo frame..Today I'm struggling to even walk ![]()

May as well talk about something, theres certainly no surf to keep us entertained !!
Mmmmmm pan fried delicious delicate whiting.............![]()
Maybe it's the brackish water that the fish bail away from. Seems to happen in geo bay when the rivers are running and the water is a bit fresh and off colour.
I think you boys are about to score in WA.
Northwest winds and swell next week ,the seasons are a changin bring it on .
Shame about you fellas in Qld , Quickie comp is looking rather lame !

Yep, hammering junk for a day and a half before it goes flat again!
See you out there.
Bit of chop and slop to ride this arv. 4/10, coupla extra marks on the wave quality scale just for the water being warm..
Took a day off. Joys of academia!
Was as good as I've seen it in Perth for a while. First time I've been covered up since Portugal.

Went to LBB for the shift change at 9:30am - offshore was whipping up the sand and white-capping the ocean so I went and had a coffee and read the paper until 11:00am... The surf was consistent and there was a decent sized swell, but the wind, rips and drift made it hard work. I got out at 1:00pm and it looked like it might have cleaned up a bit but there was a bit more south coming through in the wind. 99% lefts today. Beach was full of weed
5.5/10.
