Why would people red thumb surf picks. Honestly some people are just so boring
I know three people who have returned from overseas in the last month. All on this forum and will not share photos because of twits that red thumb...Oh well everyone else just gets to miss out, shame though

It did look small from the top of the cliff, was much better than what the pic looks. But you knew that

Yeah,,, as a relative newbie,, I'm already over discussing size. I've been corrected more than I can think.
And some people take great delight in downsizing what you think is a great wave irrespective.
When in Sth Sumatra, recently, forecast was 2-3 ft swell.
Well hello,,, not out the front point at Ujung Bocur it wasn't.
At least head and a half +, and fast shallow at the front of the reef, and mellower as it peeled off down the bay..
I think head scale is better.. more reflective at the line up as opposed to open water in the middle of the ocean.
Although I'm sure that's been discussed a million times here..

Last friday i went for a very short surf after getting my arse handed to me by the rocks.
before i jumped in i took about 5 quick pics,not waiting for the biggest sets or best waves.
i just wanted to get farkn wet, not take pics with a phone of other people on the point 300m away on the beach.
that night the boys from the surf shop called it only 3-4'..me well i called it 4'.
maybe if a waited to get the best pics i could justify my call.
i think its a pretty big call,calling peeps on size on the internet.just saying
this is the only proof i have of it being 4'(my call) and thats all i have.
but then if i posted a pic of a 6' wave of the day,,,,,was it six foot all day
the next day it was 4-6 but i have no pics ,,,so that never happened hey
as you were.

Sadly i think the point is you have great trip, you go to share photos and someone with a boring old agenda red thumbs you for it. To be honest it detracts from the experience and although most would be stoked to share your shots, it takes one di-khead (who likes to hold a grudge) to spoil it. I don't get the thumbs at all. I've seen heaps of great shots recently, but sadly not on these pages..
