So basically the original post by myself is clear...
Too bad, so sad.
As a former longtime resident of the Sth West i find it very ironic that year after year local residents had to isolate at home to get away from the madness of Easter
The Sth West hasn't the infrastructure and the patience to deal with the many thousands that over run the place
I have a few mates that are struggling financially but glad they don't have to deal with peanuts
it's normally the worst place to be in Australia over Easter time
Enjoy it while you can

Maybe we need to put signs like this out front of Perth hospitals and medical facilities. Wouldn't want any out of towners clogging our systems. ??

Your hardcore ness is awe inspiring that you were a long time resident of the Southwest. After all it requires such hardcore things like moving from Perth and buying or renting a house down there. That's hardcore.
Ummm Guess where the first surfers to surf to surf the area were from...Perth. They were also the first to move there permanently. Did that make them locals?
agree it can be a circus at Easter etc but the so called locals get little sympathy from me. They don't own the joint just coz they moved down there. The joint is full of western suburbs Prue and Trudes who go down to their million $ holiday homes for the warmer months and call em selves locals.
and like I said before the joint can be frustrating anyway. So many days where you get what I call
"in between swells" where it is too oversized for open ocean breaks but not big enough for the points etc

Preston beach now.
Rangers and Police at The spot yesterday and it was packed again like it was Easter, please be smart everyone or it's coming sooner than we all think.

"In between swells"? That sounds like a nice solid day. You need a bigger board and a bigger set.![]()
i wish there were more days like that. A bit of chunk to it thins the crowds out nicely and rules out blows in on their 6' not enough".

PS: I don't claim local status. I'm from Gero. In my experience the real locals don't really claim local status, and they surf well enough that they still get waves off the out of towners. My wife is a fourth generation local - they cleared land as part of a group settlement - and she almost never mentions it to anyone.
But I'm with Greenroom - to quote from the Simpsons, "Ha ha!" no down south for you lot.
Sadly, with no one working, crowds in the water have been horrible. 50 guys at Yals on Monday. 70 at Bears yesterday.
Sigh.....
In these hard times, I hope everyone is staying safe and finding things to fill their happiness Wells.

The best waves down there don't need a great deal of swell
Nice solid day where it's too big for big rock / lefties but not big enough for points etc = big fat burgers galore just about everywhere
if that's your thing go for it, it's not mine

^^^ok, where do you surf in such conditions good sirr?
Please tell me, coz if it's not a fat burger, or at the other end of the scale a death slab, I would like to infect your lineup just like a Carona virus
I'll bring my friends as well ![]()

Nothing to see here....
I see the premier was on the tv earlier praising the social distancing he had witnessed.
Obviously didn't see the 70 odd people scrapping over a half ft wave at Trigg point today
Its probably going to be the norm considering the modern day rape and pillage you call Perth people going to the Sth West over Easter has been cancelled.
I guess their forefathers paved the way to surf Trigg Point in the 20's and 30's so the Covid19 doesn't apply to them.
Sportsbet should create a betting page for when the government will step in and close the beaches.
To play the Devil's advocate, in the brine is reported to be hard for viruses to exist, so maybe we should all be in the water for as long as possible.
Quick, get the word out in the SW!!

I think the fact that we are allowed to surf is fantastic
But unfortunately the sheep is strong in a lot of surfers.
You Social distance on a beach break 500m from everyone else and the next group of surfers will trek that 500m to join
Human nature I suppose

Remember the crowds in Bondi early on? It's no coincidence that Bondi area then had the biggest jump in cases. Don't think your safe at the beach.
The big issue is too many selfish pricks, who should be quarantining as they have just come home from overseas, or have a sick mate, and yet they still themselves go out surfing..
I finally got my local with just 6 others for around 3 hours. That morning it had around 30 just on the peak i was surfing. The next day there was maybe 20 and it was absolute rubbish.
The next funny part is the beach when i was out, would have had maybe 60 people picnicking and sunbathing, (it was overcast) ![]()

Unfortunately we deal with the selfish $&@&$ every time we paddle out
its an unbelievable attitude to completely ignore the welfare of our most vulnerable if you have been instructed to quarantine
Again,
's advocate, the peeps at Bondi, unlike at Point Populace, are frolicking on the sand and in the splash zone in pretty decent numbers, whereas PP was only in the lineup. Of course the least social distancing would have to be on the foam ball, what with all the drop ins and all.
But, yes!! Stay at home you sick little groms.
I think the "plan" is to take more civil freedoms off us during school holidays, I think this has been the plan all along...can't do it while we (Kids, teachers and most parents are still at work), but during "holidays" fair game!! The hysteria over overcrowding at beaches is a cover to allow them to be closed off and aren't all the FB police doing that job beautifully ( I have been going surfing and am pleasantly surprised by the "civility" being shown by the majority (social spacing and general chilled out vibe) but come in, go home and find out that "the overcrowding Was Redonculous and ohhhh think of the humanity"....pfffffttt.
I am not a "conspiracy theorist" but could be accused of scepticism and cynicism ![]()
Anyhooooo Enjoy Easter inside.....I hope I am wrong........bloody boool**** maaaaate...woulda been in Lombok in 5 days time![]()

It was on the news tonight about closing the beaches over Easter
Had footage of half ft Trigg point with 3 or 4 people per wave
Didn't look good. They warned of the consequences of people not doing the right thing but I think the writing is on the wall
No way are people going to change their surfing habits. Stupid to think otherwise.
Haha nice hand grenade / wind up Green Room metro has been pretty ordinary and flat at my local so enjoy certainly the place to get isolated.
