Nice but they are some aggressive rails

Excuse my ignorance but does the timber deck just get laid on top and glassed over

As the wave widow puts it.....secret oompaloompas work upstairs at katana and do secret business from deck to foam glossing process-no photos of this!!! But yeah basically the timber is glassed to the deck

Rails get stuck on to the square profile. Depends on what Dave uses, I don't know. But e.g. several thin strips of something high density (wood, foam, other stuff, composites). Bottom is generally cut to the bottom template, i.e. not tied to the rails. Top is sometimes either cut to the top template or one of two rail strips are glued on and then the deck overlaps those and then the rest of the rail is glued on. Top and bottom are vacuumed on. Rails are shaped and sanded. Board is finish shaped. Board is glassed as usual. At least, that's compsand theory 101.

sorry Legion we just leave the rail shaping until all the laminates are cut its more accurate and less chance for damage to the rails in this process

Dave have you tried bamboo on bottom as well as the deck?

yep we do that on the sups but we found that you need different composites otherwise the board flex is lost eg. most tufflites with pvc top and bottom
we have used different grain and thickness bamboo seems to flex ok I need more time to work/test on those lay ups.
