Close encounter.
Sharks that attack use their teeth.. Doesn't mean it wasn't thinking about it but a serious attack and he'd be ****ed

Sharks and most fish for that matter attack with stealth and power so I say it was just farkin with him..

He didn't see teeth, Sharks attack by rolling their eyes back and putting their teeth out don't they? Surely he would have seen them or they would have brushed him?

Scary as **** though. And mick has every right to be very rattled for a long time. Would seriously mess with your head everytume you were in the water.

SP i think that shark was going in for the kill mick would have just looked like a floundering turtle or seal to a GWS I think people credit them with to much intelligence they have evolved to do three things swim, f.ck and eat. I have seen them biting shark cage outboards anything stationery and that one a while ago that bit a 17 foot surf ski in half. I dont know Mick Fanning but f.ck the media hype on this is driving me nuts three pages straight in my local rag yesterday with an interview with Elkerton saying he felt the same way watching the Fanning video as he did watching 9/11 video WTF

Yeah That's what I mean mate, I'm using the same logic... they farking bite anything..
Especially Bulls, they are nasty ****ers..

So if it wanted him it woulda atleast got a piece of him the board or something.

I'm not saying it wasn't going to attack but I don't see what happens as the thing trying to eat him..

But it was defiantly checking him out

Def agree on the bull sharks they are like pitbulls of the ocean I have had experience diving with them they are fearless and relentless I remember spearfishing off Narooma once in horrible visibility I had a couple of kilos of fresh speared fish on my float which was attached to my weight belt I felt an almighty tug on the rope pulled my float back to me all my fish were gone yikes I was out of there like a flash

Absolutely. Like I said earlier, that changes a man. The people close to him will be affected forever too. Slightly different as it involved a fatality (Mick's incident could easily have been a fatality) but my uncles death destroyed his kids lives and has resulted in regular pressure from family when my cousin or I go surfing. Our families don't really like it and it was 15 years ago. Mick will undoubtedly cop the same emotions and pressure far more intensely because he experienced it and his family watched it. His internal world would be just a tumultuous mess right now, his Mum would just want to be holding her little boy I am sure.

The media need to give it a rest now - enough interviews. Thankfully the news cycle turns very quickly and Mick and those close to him can have some privacy.

Bet that left a brown cloud behind you..

I think of a bull as like a bouncer that punches first and lies later. A bull shark will bite first then figure it out..

They scare me more then a white..

Reclaim Australia Movement Demands Shark-Cull After Fanning Incident

<div class="ssba ssba-wrap">
<div>-Bay overnight.

July 20, 2015. 10:10CLANCY OVERELL | Editor | Contact
<div class="story-intro">SHOCKING footage of Mick Fanning fending off a great white shark in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa, has made waves around the world. The Australian cultural activist movement, Reclaim Australia, has made an official statement this morning surrounding the incident. The movement has stated, that current increase in shark attacks on Australian beaches is something they have also been keeping a close eye on.“Blame it on it whatever, global warming, over-fishing, failed attempts at multi-culturalism… the same thing is happening here”“The fact is there has been thousands of sightings of sharks and hundreds of shark attacks in the same decade that we have seen a rampant rise in domestic terrorism,” said Reclaim Australia spokesman, Councillor Keith Carton
<div class="wp-caption alignleft"> members of the Reclaim Australia movement take to the streets this morning to protest the life-threatening increase in sharks

“After seeing that footage of Mick Fanning in South Africa, we realise, like that country… Australia’s attempts at integration have failed and in turn we are sitting ducks for terrorists and sharks,”“The Greeks have been scouring our waterways since they came off the boat. Don’t get me started on the Chinese,”

The movement, which made controversial headlines over the weekend says their movement advocates the safety of Australian culture and Australians from all kinds of domestic and foreign threats, not just Islam-specific threats.“Sure this stuff is happening in South Africa, some might say it’s not a concern here…”“…But it will be here soon enough, mark my words. Who would have ever thought surfing competitions would have to be called off because of shark attacks,”“This is just like the terrorists. You let “friendly” communities of sharks breed in our waters, next thing you know BOOM!.. It’ll be a Martin Place siege… in Bondi… with sharks”Australian surfer, Mick Fanning said he’d be happy to never compete again after he incredibly emerged unscathed following the close encounter, which was broadcast live.

I heard Gordon Tallis's joke on the Matt Johns footy show.

They were talking about the attack then Tallis said, hey on a positive isn't it good to see the sharks feature in a final again
