Protected bay south of Sydney. 200m + runners on the 11ft Takayama Prince Kuhio. Love this board for these waves.
Most crowded I have ever seen it tho.
I just looked at the surfcam for The Bluff at Alex and thought to myself "why would you even paddle out there with the crowd the way it is." Then I looked at the Greenmount cam...omfg! What a zoo!

Wow a couple of mates and I brought a place in Opunake for $45k had some awesome times there with girlfriends and mates. 20 Fox Street so we always had plenty of parking on reserve. A short walk down to beach with one of NZ oldest surf lifesaving club.
Late summer best for smaller bur cleaner surf. A camper is ideal to limit travel up and down highway 45 ??
Spring is awesome for multisport surf, windsurf (windy place with somewhere cross shore), snowboard with good snow down steep natural halfpipe. Also brought 750cc jet ski for tow in. We did tow in on outer point breaks with Yamaha 750 wave runner.

Excellent report Bazz I was just there.
